Piggy Backing on News Traffic?

Hi, I was wondering do you think its a good idea to add a section to my news based site dealing with product reviews to kind of piggy back off my existing news traffic or do you think that is not a wise idea?

I am not looking to get included in google news, was already turned down for that ( even when it was just news )

    I don't see why not. Many sites that report "news" also review products and services for that niche. For example a movie news site would also review movies if that makes sense. Any idea's why your site was turned down for Google News? Is it a general news site or a niche news site?

    Reason I ask is because I recently set out to do a Google News site, but its a niche site and I feel I have a good chance of being accepted--but I've read they are super picky.
