My ClickBank hops dramatically decreased

Hi warriors,

I do not know what happened here. Everything is working correctly, however the stats are horrible. If visitors to my sites were normal ... What could have happened? It may be a direct problem of ClickBank?

I can not imagine the amount of sales that may be missing. Has anyone had the same experience?

Cheers.

Interesting. This has happened to me to. Mine has dropped considerably over the last two weeks. I have noticed that a strong site I have has dropped in its ranking from number one to number 10. Perhaps google is misbehaving? I cant figure it out either.

Check your site ranking, if it hasn't changed then get a new CB id.

There's problems going on with CB at the moment. The analytics hasn't updated since 2/23/11.

I was freaking out at first until I noticed the date "last updated".

Yes you can but I think you have to make those 5 unique sales again to be able to get your first paycheck from that account.

There's also the initial delay on a new account to allow for refunds.

I've had the same thing happen to my account. I posted the following in another thread, might be connected somehow.

"One thing I've noticed is that on my home computer, when I check my affiliate ID's for my sites everything appears to be ok until I follow it to the order page and at the bottom it shows [affiliate = none]. I've also checked other sites who are promoting the same products I am and it shows the same way, [affiliate = none]

Now I've checked my sites from another computer and everything appears like its working properly.

So does this mean that if I go to your site to order a product from my home computer and at the bottom of the screen it shows [affiliate = none], that you are not credited for the sale. Sure seems like it to me.

I've sent an email to clickbank so if I hear something back I'll let you know."

Not quite, Francie. If Clickbank's affiliate tracking doesn't work like it should, you could end up not getting credited for sales you send them.

I am having some clickbank problems currently as well..

Im worried that the tracking is not working correctly because I am getting the same amount of traffic, hops, CTR and the vendor page is not changed...

However I am not getting the average amount of sales i was getting previously..

Have you been making consistent sales before? Or do you just have hops but no sales?

I dont know what is going on with clickbank, this is the 3rd time that has happened to me...

I have sent Clickbank an ticket and I will also message the vendor to see what is going on..

This sounds like it'd definitely be cause for concern. If the traffic, pages and the overall marketing process remains the same and you see a dramatic drop in sales, then tracking could be an issue here.

Please let us know what you hear from CB and/or the vendor regarding this. I assume you've checked and double-checked all your links, and they seem to be presently working on your end?

            Paul,

Yes, I have triple checked all of my links, but I put new ones in place just to see if there was a tracking error. I am waiting on the reply from CB and the vendor and will keep you guys posted.

Yes, you can use your vendor ID for affiliate promotions too and it won't even mess up your analytics because vendor and affiliate stats are kept separate.

Are majority of the hops from only 1 affiliate or a mixed bunch of them contributes to the hops?

If it is only from an affiliate I suspect that the particular affiliate has stop promoting your product and hence, a low hop count.

I had one vendor bail out of CB altogether (in an art niche), but this seems to be a system-wide issue.

I think people will start moving out from Clickbank. The number of problems that Clickbank has is too huge to even list here... it would take days and days...

Sometimes it looks like Clickbank's only aim is to get 100% of the sales made,
instead of getting only their commission...

    Same Here.

My sites ranking are getting better and better and yesterday I received record amounts of traffic to my sites.

    But clickbank shows:

    2 days ago: 1 hop
    yesterday: 0 hops

It's so annoying. But do we get money if someone buys from us even if the hop count doesn't show correctly?

CB has been having issues lately, for sure. Tracking or Analytics is showing last updated at 4:31 AM yesterday. I have noticed in the past that when Analytics is hosed up it is rare to get any sales. Although CB denies that any data is lost or that hops and sales don't work it just seems mighty peculiar and something that I have noticed over the past few years... this is not an isolated incident or a one off thing.

I just love when they take things down and throw up a page that says "Scheduled Maintenance" when it really is neither. If it is scheduled then you should post something days before letting people know that you are scheduling maintenance for a certain day and time. Maintenance also infers that this is routine applying of patches, hotfixes etc... not taking portions of your site down because the whole thing is jacked up.

Also, this has nothing to do with article marketing or the Panda Slap or EZA. Posters have stated that traffic is normal if not increasing during this time, which is also what I have noticed on my sites... so...

Also I was making a sale every 2 to 3 days for a few weeks at least , then at least a couple of weeks ago ..My sales just fell off completely , while my traffic was getting better.I have had just 2 sales since this has started !

I made a phone call to click-bank and they told me not to worry , I was getting credit for sales and the system would be back to normal with the analytics in a couple of days.. I'm not to sure I believe them !

        I hope click-bank resolves this soon !

Hear, hear - you've got that right.

I recently (well, about a week ago) put in a ticket regarding the apparent problem with Clickbank's affiliate-tracking cookies in Internet Explorer 9, enquiring as to whether (1) they're aware of the issue (I know they are, but I just wanted to see if they'd acknowledge it ), (2) if they are currently looking into it and (3) whether or not they were hopeful about getting it resolved before the browser "becomes mainstream".

So far, I haven't had a response; I know they're often pretty slow, anyway, but frankly I'm not that hopeful about receiving one.

    Hi,

Looks like something definitely going on at clickbank. The last week new sales have been way down. The only sales that seem to be showing up is from recurring billings.

With that said, I am not going to worry about it. I am sure within a few days they will have everything working normal.

(I din't see this thread first and ended up in creating another one for the same problem - I hope some mod will attach it here)

Yeah, CB still has got this problem. I din't know this as I had sales displayed on my analytics everyday. I have 3 to 9 sales everyday from this 10th (thats the day I've started with CB) and today the hops is 0.

Yesterday I've got a few sales and I expected more today - my tracking shows that around 37 clicks happened already directly to the sales page. I wonder if the sales be displayed correctly (if some sales were there) once they fix this issue.

Any news from the side of CB??

It has updated to 17th 2am now - and hop counts are showing in the analytics - I wonder how come I've got sales on all the other days and not even single sale for today. I think the system fails to track the sales that happen in the mean time. Anybody else feels so?

    Warriors,

I got a question for you..take a look at this screenshot:

the last stats where it says "/order/ordersuccess.html?vendor=&item="

SHOULD this mean that I receive 4 sales for the day? or is this one of those things where consumers can hit submit on the order form, but payment doesn't go through?

The reason why I ask you this is because as of late, I have seen stats on my google analytics saying that my impressions for the "/order/ordersuccess.html?vendor=&item=" were always MORE than what my sales are reflecting...

    Tell me what you think!

    Thanks,

I think CB fails terribly to keep the affiliate sales when the system goes down. I think we gonna loose our sales. So far the whole week sent me good number of sales (everyday I had sales and the minimum was 3.) Today I have more traffic than the last day and my sales is 0.

I'm not so sure that I really haven't made any sales. This must be a CB bug! Can't tell anything!

You've had that many hops and no sales? Something wrong with that picture. Even with the CB issues, I'd think you'd get at least 1/2 of 1% with even the worst sales pitch, and that would yield about 5 sales over that period. Have you checked to make sure your CB order pages have your aff name at the bottom?

It happens often these days! (hope CB will fix it up soon) I'm experiencing a very different issue here (not sure if this is all - just a coincidence). I'm getting a 4-9 sales everyday. But whenever the system hangs (I mean, on those particular days) I'm getting only 1-2 sales. I don't really know if CB analytics is missing any of my sales..

ok listen up and listen well.

I am from australia and am a vendor on clickbank for several niches.

I have to tell you that its summer over in the US. People are outside most the time and my sales do go down in summer too. But in winter they go up, because people are rugged up and online surfing. Its just the nature of the beast...and it all equals out in teh end.

    Just saying.
