Is This A "No Brainer"?..

I'm doing keyword research using the google keyword tool and I'm finding keywords that are getting a ton of searches and that have VERY little competition ..

Most of them are getting searched between 2800-8100 times in 1 month ..
And they all have less than 5000 quoted search results ..

For the majority of them, the .com name is still available!
It's in a niche that can be easily monetized as well ...

Is buying the .com's a no brainer?

I suppose I could create a blog for each one, throw up a few posts, SEO it, build up my mailing list and make some money off google adsense in the process just off the free traffic (providing I get a top position).

What would you do?

Thanks in advance,

Bill

I'd get off the forum and take some action. Seems like a decent plan to me?

Any tips on finding such keywords, or is it trial and error pot-luck?

    Real weakness of mine.

To be honest, I just have a lot of time on my hands ..
I'm living on a Muay Thai camp in the middle of nowhere.
I got punched in the eyeball and my eye got infected so I haven't been able to train all week..

I think I pretty much do what everyone else does..

I'll use the "dog training" example that everyone seems to use ..

"dog training" has over 7 MILLION quoted results ..

So we narrow it down a bit ..

"pitbull training" .. ok .. little better but still 18,000 quoted results ..

Narrow it down even further ...

"how to train a pitbull" .. ok .. 1,650 QUOTED RESULTS!

But does it have any searches? ..

YUP ... 3600 in the month of November ...

      There ya go .. that's a perfect example ..

To the OP, yes go and register them. Just don't do too many of you won't be able to put in the time to build them up and get them ranking

@JK - This happened to me recently as well. Basically i was looking at products on the likes of clickbank then searching for keywords in that niche. There's loads of them so if you follow that method you should find some decent domains still available for high-traffic keywords.

    Alright,

    Just picked them up ..

    #1 = 3,600 1 month 3400 quoted results
    #2 = 8,100 1 month 3340 quoted results
    #3 = 8,100 1 month 4000 quoted results
    #4 = 6,600 1 month 6180 quoted results

The other day I bought a .com with 22,200 month searches and only 3,300 quoted results as well..

If I wanted to make a little side business of this (buying and re-selling domains), where is the best place to sell? Godaddy marketplace?

Anyway, thanks for the advice as usual guys..

That's the plan, there is also a great thread by Daniel Molano on the exact same method.

Something to consider for sure ..

Is not being able to find good keywords a common problem for people?
