Tips on a successful signature

I was just wondering what is everyones opinion on the type of signature that converts the most?

Have you found that images in the signature convert much higher? Is it worth the $60/year?

I'm sure images would attract more clicks, anytime I see an image my eyes are automatically looking at it. And I'm sure others are the same. I think you should center your sig and also get rid of some of the stars... a bit too many for me and looks spammy.

Mostly because not many people use banner sigs, I would vote for that.

Aside from that, put something catchy or bizarre that makes people do a double-take when they skim past it. Though I don't have any good examples that are appropriate to this forum, but if you were on a health forum I'd post something like:

    "HAIRY NIPPLES SUCK!
Avoid the embarrassment of having a hairy nipple by reading this free guide today!"

Obviously that doesn't apply to WF, but you get the idea

Put a big HUGE pick pill in your sig and people are going to look at it!

  • i don't have a signature yet, but I think text converts better the reasoning is that all the pros in direct marketing tell you to have pictures and I did that my first year couldn't make a profit. One my mentors (I thought he was nuts) said make ugly cards with strong call to action well that turned out to work. I would go with text.

I would not center my sig. Keep it to the left and make it shorter. Most people will only scan through and some may veer away from a lot of text.

Text works just as good as an image. Some people prefer text and some prefer images. Either will work for you. Just make it more shorter and condensed. Get right to the point: (what is it that the visitor will get from clicking on your link?)

The signatures that attract the most are those that are attached to the posts of thoughtful, helpful, credible people.

The best thing you can do to boost the value of your signature is be one of those people.

Very true, the more you add value and prove yourself to be helpful and an authority on your subject is the more people will look more seriously at your sig. Its just like article marketing if you prove to be very educational and helpful people are going to want to check your site out for more info you have to offer.

Using colour in the signature image has drawn my attention.
One.....and i can't remember whose now had a circle round part of it and it just stood out for me as no one else had one that i had seen.

Haven't started using one yet but haven;t ruled it out.

    Good luck

I haven't tried a banner image signature, and, interestingly, no responder to this thread currently has one (doesn't mean they haven't tested it). May work...may not...I suppose it just depends. If it's anything like banner ads elsewhere, I find myself personally more inclined to click on links rather than banners.
