Making money with affiliate marketing?

hi'
i'm wondering if it's possible to gain money through affiliates with banners. Can it be as effective as amazon, where you can place directly the product? Would you place banners to you site?
thanks

When I first started I had a basic html info site and it contained banners on the site which had my aff link in them. I saw great success with this "method" if you want to call it that.

Your success with Affiliate Marketing has more to do with creating a site, finding targeted traffic and ensuring its buyers you are getting to your site.

You will also make more money by looking at your commission percentages and the average sale of the merchant.

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.

I'll think you'll find that text links convert better than banners especially when you write a credible review that gives the reader a compelling reason to buy the product

I think that banners can still be effective for some products but they are a passive form of promotion. Much better to write an article or short review of the product and incorporate contextual text links. This way you will gain some trust and credibility.

I used to do well with using Amazon product photos as a sort of banner. Just add some text and a call to action and you have a banner of your own.

      Hi hidedora,

I can place affiliate banner on my site but it depends on the kind of affiliate and its relevance to the content of my site.

If you have a list, you can do a simple survey of your list by asking them how they feel about certain effects or services (the problem that your affiliate product(banner0 would solve).

Their answers might lead you to the correctness or otherwise of your decision to place such banner.

In all ensure that whatever banner you are lacing is very relevant to the content of the site.
