Video Creation Software Questions- How do they do that?

If you are familiar with George Brown's(I think that's who it is), Google Sniper 2.0 sales page. I am really curious how he does that with his video.

What I am talking about is where he is on camera, then he switches to screencast or camtasia presentation or something. I like that style and want to use it for some of my training videos. But I have no clue how to do that. I am thinking there must be some software that helps with editing? So there must be two parts or multiple parts.

1.) Camera is pointing at you, you record, then stop recording
2.) Then you do a screencast, or slideshow or what have you.
3.) Then you probably upload your video to your pc, open some editing software, then combine the two video + screencast etc.,

cheers,

ej

There are several ways to go about this...

    1. If you are MAC based you can use imovie or final cut (go with imovie - cheaper) to accomplish this task or if you are Windows based then adobe premier, vegas, canopus etc will work just fine)

    2. Record your footage with your flip cam and then save the .mov to your hard drive.

    3. Import the flip cam footage into your video editor suite and place it in your assets bin.

    4. Then use screenflow or camtasia or jing to record your desktop.

    5. import that footage to your assets bin

    6. Place your flipcam footage on video layer 1 and place your screencast video on video layer 2

    7. Adjust/Scrub points of your overlay footage on video layer 1 and edit accordingly

    --------

Other option - If you are wanting to have your face recorded/talking while you are screencasting your desktop is to use Screenflow (i am mac based, so this is what i use) and then set up your video camera (isight, logitech quickcam, whatever...) point it at you and record while you are recording your desktop.

    ------

If you have any other questions, shoot me a PM and I will be glad to help you out. In the early 2,000's I owned a video production company so I am pretty experienced with finalcut, imovie, compression, and Amazon S3.

    Cheers,
    Preston

It is just basic editing. You could do it in Camtasia or something like Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere.

I think George Brown used Camtasia Studio.

Other video editing softwares you can use are

    1. Adobe Premiere Pro.
    2. Windows Media Player.
