Hi Warriors

My AW Stats on my wordpress blogs are recording & showing DATA indicating unique visits etc.

Google Analytics is also producing DATA, for the same blogs.

AW Stats data is always greater in number of unique visitors, page views etc.

All things been equal ie filter settings, any ideas why the DATA presented is so different?

Thank's Warriors

If you look at raw referrer logs, you see an awful lot of junk in there that you wouldn't want to count as a 'visit'. As well as the real search engines, you'll see plenty of visits from crawlers for things that never send you any traffic, not to mention a ton of pointless referral log spam.

So I suspect (don't know for sure) that maybe Google is filtering out more junk than AW Stats.

Yeah scroll to the bottom of the Awstats page and you can see the actual keywords that was used. The hits you're seeing is the bots and image file downloads.

Your awstats are real, actual stats of all the activity on your site. GA only works for browser-based visits to your site, and only if the user has javascript enabled (some people do not).
