Affiliate program for unusual niche

I have been working on my business for 2½ years and it has grown a lot since. However, the business is still very small compared to what it could be or compared to what you guys are doing. My mailing list is currently around 700 subscribers.

I do have my products on Plimus and Clickbank and at some point I was getting considerable traffic from Plimus affiliates. However... so far, the only affiliate who has made sales is a friend of mine who teaches something similar and who has a mailing list of around 10000 people. All other affiliates resulted in 0 sales. The things I teach are very different from what people are used to, and my niche is very specific:
- men who feel there's something missing in the way men and women relate in the Western world
- people who not only want to change their results in life with women and their actions, but who are also ready to change as a person
- people who are open to spirituality and energies or have experience with that

Should I look again into affiliate marketing to grow my business faster, and if so, what would be the best approach to make it work?

The sales and comissions depends on the buyers,You have 700 subscribers if they are information seekers then it is not useful to you.You have to take the buyers instead of infomation seekers.

  • Get your product on as many email lists as possible by contacting other product owners in your niche and asking them to cross promote. You blast theirs, they blast yours (or just they blast yours if you want).

Test your conversion rates and see how you do with an audience that doesn't know who you are.

It took me a long time to master selling cold to people who didn't know me yet, take your time and try it one new affiliate at a time until you have an army of them. Then, as your gravity increases, new affiliates will pop out of the woodwork.

Be sure to create an email list for affiliates and also give them some helpful content creation ideas.

Out of the 700 subscribers I have, I sold to quite a lot of them. These are high quality, but the list grows slowly. Just to give an idea of how sparse the market is, I organized a group coaching week-end in Montreal. Only one guy came from Montreal, the others came from New-York, Boston, Texas and Greece.

I do post an article from time to time on a popular mailing list and blog in Montreal about seduction... but that doesn't convert at all. 97% of the people in my industry are about seduction with tricks and techniques and these aren't my market... that is, until they figure out the road doesn't lead anywhere. I teach about authentic attraction which is a completely different market. Few teach about that, and those who do usually seem to be very protective about their list and market. The other option is to find people in other similar markets (self-development, spirituality and others).
