Craigslist question -- white hat methods for this?

Are there ways or software that allows you to, 1) open your CL account, then -- 2) post ads to various cities via some kind of dashboard?

Can it be done daily? On auto pilot?

Can this be done all white hat? Or is the whole concept NOT white hat, by definition?

Any recommendations or advice?

Thanks!

You should read the craigslist TOS. Sounds like your definitely in the grey area and leaning towards the black.

Well craigslist is really strict about spam and if something seems a little bit spammy (to them ), they don't like it.

Craigslist, IMO, would have a problem with Automated softwares. I can be wrong though.

Craigslist is a pain nowadays to advertise anything digital. I place ads once in a while but they have a good system in place that makes it harder to advertise in certain cities, and categories. You have to have a Craigslist account, verify your phone number, login, etc... etc...

      • Posting across different cities on Craigslist.org is difficult.

At minimum, make sure that the text you post in each city is largely unique to avoid their automated spam detection.

Why not outsource it and have it done manually. You can do that super cheap. Just rewrite your ad 25 times or whatever, and have your VA post it to the top 100 cities or however many you want each day. Can easily be done for less than 10 dollars/day I'm assuming.

Another option is to have the software developed, use it for a month or two, then launch it on here because I'm sure there are a bunch of people who'd find it useful. Especially if you gave away a free case study showing how it made money.

I see national (based) ads listed in local cities (cities those companies are NOT located in) ALL THE TIME.

Of course that does not mean they are using white hat methods either !

But I'm sure they're not posting all those ads manually.

Timothy Try the Craigslist forum its a hidden traffic source. Well not hidden, but a lot of people don't know about it, or don't use it.

I understand they have gone after some posting services, enforcing the $ charge for violations you agree to in in their TOS.

If you're posting a big volume of ads, then CLAD is the way to go assuming you can figure it out. A less expensive solution that looks fairly easy to use is Adzilla. I've been checking out all the different solutions lately, and Adzilla looks like a good option if you don't need or want CLAD.
