My webcam broke my computer. :o(

Okay. I got my webcam so I could set YouTube ablaze with all of my marketing genius....

And it broke my computer.

Or maybe my questionably good looks broke it.

Either way, I got an error message about how my computer hates my webcam.

I uninstalled it, but it still didn't fix everything.

Help? Please? Any ideas?

(I even wore makeup! Honest!)

After using the cam a couple of times, when I restarted the computer, the screen went blank and said that Wondows could not start.

Then it tried to repair the problem. No good.

Then it restored the computer to a previous date (

), and that got it working (sort of), but some of my programs are not running correctly.

I am getting a message saying that if I recently installed a camera (which I did) or audio player (which I didn't), then that could be causing the problem.

Try reinstalling the programs that are not working.

I have, but they are still not working.

I have decided that the best course of action is to stop fooling around with the computer and wait for Hubby to come home and fix it.

Good idea. Maybe the webcam driver screwed up your computer. Are you sure the webcam was designed for you operating system?

Have you tried it with Windows? Wondows has been experiencing problems lately, much like the Wendows fiasco from 2004.

I have to try it with Windows, don't I? That is what is on my computer.

Worst comes to worst you'll have to reformat your computer if your hubby can't fix it.

Thomas's right. Check your OS and makes sure it supports that webcam.
If not just buy a new one..

The video cam driver probably jacked up sound/vid drivers. Make sure you're using the right drivers for the cam and update your sound/vid drivers.
