What was your successful method for making fairly quick but sustained income?

Hi there,

Have been reading and learning the threads on this forum - thanks so much. It's really helpful.

Although I've got quite a few years' experience within IT, internet marketing and running websites, I have yet to take action on one primary method and make it result in sustained income.

I am now looking at a few avenues.

I would be very grateful for some input (thank you in advance) for these questions:

- Offline marketing - what has been successful? What services do you provide clients? Is website design and SEO not too much hassle with loads of client issues to be dealt with?

- What method worked for you in terms of affiliate marketing?

- Do you think affiliate marketing is going to get tougher due to Google's recent algorithm change?

As you can see my thoughts (and interests) are around affiliate marketing and gaining offline sales, but any other ideas would be welcome too.

I wait with baited breath for any responses! Thank you.

    1. Offline marketing can be done in various ways. From creating a facebook fanpage for companies to delivering a design or SEO. Depending on what YOU know.

    2. I've managed to run an affiliate website that sold iphones in the beginning of 3GS. However, I was breaking even and wanted to do something else. Besides this, I just used a wordpress blog (with apple theme) and was really easy to setup. Thus, could be profitable if spend more time or money on it.

    3. In terms of SEO for your affiliate pages, yes. It does get's harder because Google really wants original content that delivers. But it's definitely not harder since there are hundreds of other ways to gain traffic than Google.

Thanks Frank. I would give you a Thanks via the button under the post, but I guess I'm not yet qualified for one

      Appreciate the input.

I am wondering about Twitter, and why here on WF, there are not more people talking about professional tweeting for businesses?

I know some people offering this service and wondered what some of you wisened social media marketing 'gurus' thought of this idea? It seems to me there could be quite a demand.

      All replies greatly appreciated!

If you want to make money with affiliate products, sell products that everyone is already buying. Here is an interesting thread that teaches you how to become an Amazon affiliate, and another thread that gives you a template. Write reviews, which are easier to be written than articles. You simply have to select a few paragraphs from various reviews you’ll read about a certain product and after collecting them, rewrite everything in your own words. This content will be original because you won’t copy anything. You can also hire a ghostwriter to write better reviews for you:

From my experience as a consultant for the last 2.5 years for the small business niche and information marketing, I can tell you that if you want to stay away from client issues then outsource services that require monthly maintenance.

Find a good SEO firm that is reputable and has excellent customer service and be an affiliate for them. Overseas SEO teams take a while to get a good system going and you end up being the customer service department, which is what you say you don't want.

As far as twitter or any other social media service I recommend to think more about set up then service. At the end of the day generic post is not going to bring in huge ROI for the client and they get impatient after a month of 2 even though you have set the right expectations...emotions always take control.

Consider Mobile Marketing Set Up, a hot trend right now for the local business market with smart phones and tablets taking over the tech market.

Hope this helps if you want some resources for this shoot me an email.

    Good luck!

      I agree with Bill,

offer a service,UNDER promise and OVER deliver.

Anyway, this question has appeared here in many different sentences but the answer remains the same.

The first thing you have to do is find some service or product you would offer people in exchange for cash.

How much money you need and how urgent you need the money will push you to look for what many people are looking for and the best ways to give them that.

There is yet to be any better way of collecting or earning immediate cash than this.

I would like to know if there are any.

      Excellent advice for all aspects.
Don't expect to do the minimum (at first) and expect the maximum results. It rarely works that way.

clever7 - I did look at Amazon affiliates, but it takes too long to build up the sales volumes required for the lower commissions - for my needs anyway.

kjimeno - I am not quite sure I follow what you are saying ref Twitter (sorry), but all I can say is that Twitter brings INSTANT traffic and in huge numbers if you have a big enough following. There is then also the possibility of sponsored tweets...I wonder if anyone has been paid in this way?

Yes, offer a service and over deliver - seems to be sound advice.

        Thanks again.
