Canadian (non-US?) Amazon Associates: Anyone managed to get direct deposit?

As you probably know, the Amazon Associates program will do a direct deposit of advertising fees earned, but only to US bank accounts.

Has anyone in Canada managed to set up a bank account that will accept direct deposits? I saw an old post from someone else on another forum saying they accomplished this, but they didn't elaborate on how they did it. I'm assuming there is a bank that can set up a USD account with a routing number in Canada.

I know that there are third party services that will handle this, but I'd rather do it directly.

If anyone knows anything about this, I'd appreciate it!

    A little late,

Royal Bank of Canada has banks in the US, its called RBC Bank (used to be RBC Centura).

All you have to do is go into your branch (assuming you have an RBC account) and ask to open an account with them. Might take a while, because the personal bankers in your branch, same as mine, probably never even heard of the US account.

But once you get it set up, its a full US bank account with US ABA number and all that. All it takes is a couple of clicks to transfer the money to your Canadian RBC account.

I never tried to get a direct deposit with Amazon,I always received checks, but like someone said here you might be able to do it through a US account with RBC and then transfer the funds into your regular account.

Wow ya please share more info, I have been wanting to open a US bank account for a while now but I haven't been there more then a week in a few months. I heard it's not TOO hard ot get one but if I could do one from Canada that would save me a trip .

well i did open one at US BANK in Blaine, WA. Was very easy to do. But then im paying another bank monthly fee. Plus they deactivate your account if no activity in 3 months. SO it's kind of a pain in the a*s...
