I am just trying to find some information about how Facebook Login works in regard to capturing emails and I can't find anything so was hoping you guys may be able to help me.

If I request to email people who login with Facebook, does this need to be done through Facebook or can I export the emails and/or can I forward them to an aweber account etc...?

Thanks in advane

I've been learning about Facebook and my understanding is that you can only add an autoresponder on your Like page.

Yeah I think it's the same with other information you request on facebook as well. Nothing through facebook.

    • Here's the documentation page:

      developers.facebook. com/docs/authentication/permissions/
(take out the spaces since apparently I can't post URLs yet)

The "email" row about half way down is relevant. Basically when you put up the Facebook Connect dialog you'll want to tell facebook that you're asking for the Email extended permission. The facebook connect dialog will mention to users that they are sharing their email with you, though the great majority of users realistically will not read this bit. Once they connect, you can programmatically ask Facebook for their email address.

There's probably some pre-written plugin somewhere which provides essentially a FB-based list opt-in but I don't know a specific one.
