Promoting a domain for sale

I have a domain, greatestcopy.com listed on sedo, and I am trying to figure out how to promote it quickly and for free. I am not looking to turn a huge profit on this, I just need enough to get my mass mail provider's next step up in membership for my offline marketing business.

I didn't do a anything with this site, so it doesn't have much in the way of traffic, which I know will make selling it harder, but is their anyway I can promote the sale for free and that will get me an offer quickly?

You could always try Flippa and put a small offer out.

Or even post some more about it here and other IM forums.

If you have a specific money idea in mind it would be a good idea to sell it like a car on the side of the road. State what the site is, what its stats are and say $300 obo.

May be a little crude but hey it'll probably be fast

Yes flippa.com has a section for just domain names. Your domain was registered less than a year ago so won't have accued much value unless somebody can be found sho particularly likes the name. But hey it seems you are a great copywriter if thats you the site is promoting. So do your thing and persuade em!

    regards
    George

Flippa is better for actual sites but for names I typically contact end users. Think of an existing site or business or person who would like to own that website and try emailing them.

Ok guys, I get flippa, and domain selling sites, but I am talking PROMOTION. Nobody knows my domain is for sale, so how do I let a bunch of say, copywriters know that greatestcopy.com is for sale on sedo, with no money for promotional material in any way, and how do I let them know like YESTERDAY.

I would try spending a few bucks and doing a WSO.
then just keep bumping it every week until it sells...

Soon, I will be trying my first WSO, for something completely different
but what the heck, it's worth a try... :-)

Why don't you just email them? Find 10 or so copywriters and let them know the name will be sold and they can make a bid starting at XXX (I'd probably start with a few hundred bucks). Then send them to a page with details about why the domain is valuable and a form or email link.

        Here's one I just used...

        =============

        Subject: XXXXXXXXXX.com

        Hey There,

I hope things are going well, it's been a while since we last spoke.

I own the domain XXXXXXXXXX.com and was just about to list it in
Afternic when I realized you might be interested.

The listing price will be $1988, but if you want it I'd let you have it for
$500. Let me know because I'm telling some of my other XXXX friends
about this and the first person to say yes will get it.

        Talk to you soon.

        Jonathan

By the way, I like the name but wouldn't pay more than Reg fee for it. Estibot seems to think it's worth $230 though...

Almost no search volume, and not really a common phrase (even in the IM industry).
