Amazon S3/Cloud getting easier to use?

Marketers have been using Amazon S3 storage for downloadable products, it is cheap and can handle big traffic surges. While it's been possible to host static pages that will have better load speed than cheap shared hosting. They also offer a decent amount of free service for the first year?
Fast page loads help a site's google search ranking, there have been product launch disasters caused by file server melt downs that running from the cloud would have prevented. I believe AWS is also used by some to host CPV advertisements.

It's been technically challenging for those more accustomed to just setting up a wordpress blog, while most of use can still benefit from the assistance of a specialist in getting things working on AWS, they have made one step toward simplifying the process.

On Feb 25, 2011 Amazon Introduced AWS CloudFormation

AWS CloudFormation

It provides a sort of text macro-script template that simplifies setting up more complex data on AWS, sample templates are available to add resources like WordPress (blog), Tracks (project tracking), Gollum (wiki)

Any tips on using AWS or tutorial links would be appreciated, here's one guys notes on hosting static pages I just ran across:
