Where can I find free quality wordpress themes?

INTERNET MARKETING

I'm looking for some nice wordpress themes. I don't want anything too much fancy, as long as it's decent. I'll be happy.

Can someone recommend some nice places for free quality wordpress themes?

I found

but they have just 5 and I can't even preview them before download.

The first place you should be looking at is: Wordpress.org

The next place: SmashingMagazine.com

Both sites can offer you something which will surely satisfy your need.

I read an article recently where they demonstrated a very high percentage of free templates available on the web had nasty code in them
so for free themes I would stick to wordpress.org
best value paid themes I've found are at

Hey Raindance,

The downside of free themes is that they may not work after the next WordPress update. You are dependent on the developer for keeping them in sync with WP and if the developer is not getting paid, they may stop. Even the paid ones stop.

I use Catalyst which I strongly reccomend if it fits your budget. Essentially this product lets you design your own theme and there are now a lot of users keeping the development team in coffee, rent, cars, etc. They will think twice before they stop.

I stopped using free themes because of the risk. If the risk is acceptable then they are OK.
