Wordpress themes frustrating me

Finally I got myself a free theme and I uploaded it. I'm new to wordpress, in fact I'm new to entire website building process. I installed just hours ago. I put up the theme and in the header, I see the name of the theme not my title. I go through all the links in the dashboard to edit the text or the image but everything is soooooooo confusing. I even googled for help but there guys are talking outrageously weird stuff including html and css. I can do html to a certain extent, I mean I've used html editors  I wonder if there is still so much techie html and css stuff involved in wordpress then why do even people say, if you don't know html, go for wordpress!!!! I think considering my limited knowledge, I could make a better site with html.

How do i change this sick header? I want my site's name, not the theme's over there.

You need to edit the header image and upload it in place of the default image
No need for editing any codes if you keep the names of the files same.

Right click on your header image will be something like yourdomain.com/blah/blah/blah/something.jpg or .png or some image
Note that location and make your new logo/header and upload to the same directory, make sure the old name and new name (of the image) is the same, else you will have to edit codes (which i am no good at)
        Hope that helps.

Send your link to someone via pm.

With wordpress, you either learn how it works yourself for this kid of tweaking or you find somebody you can hire.

All comes down to where you think your time is best spent.

Just go into your theme files which will be in your ftp..wp-content/themes/themename and edit the header.php file, you need to understand some bit php and html to get this thing fixed, but definitely not hard.

By the way, since you say you see the theme's name, it must be the default logo, so just right click on that part and click on view image ( in firefox ) 90% it would be logo.png or jpg or gif. It should be in your theme images files wp-content/themes/themename/images/, either delete that file or create your own logo or just simple text image of your website name and upload it to the same place.

take a look and guide you through the process.

Wordpress is simple- but NOT easy to learn to navigate.

Some themes have built in options to replace the header image (when they come with their default one). Actually almost all themes have this option, if your's doesn't I'd suggest finding one that does and not waste time on technical details.
