Unfortunately I am not a ham expert, so i can't really help you there other than just suggesting that you promote other cooking related tools or books.

In regards to the site I would suggest you browse the themes at themeforest. I don't know if they have a theme that is specifically cooking, but they do have some great themes. I could also custom design one for you if you have something in mind and want to PM me, however themeforest would be a cheaper route.

Looks like there are quite a few themes if you search Google for "meat wp theme", "food and drink wp theme" etc.

In terms of the products to promote, I'm not sure I'm afraid! Have you looked at your competitors for this keyword (and related ones) to see what they are promoting?

Anything related to cooking; cooking meat in particular.

Off the top of my head...

Roasting pans
Meat smokers
Spices and rubs
Meat thermometers
Grills
Grilling accessories
Aprons
____ of the Month clubs that have affiliate programs
Pig and/or bacon knick knacks
Timers

Without having had much time to look at how good your competition is, I can see that in the UK alone, there are 15,600,000 competing pages for the phrase, how to cook a ham, in exact match.

Some of the results include famous chefs websites, Ehow, newspaper and news websites (BBC and Channel 4). If you're targetting the States, I can't see this being lower.

Although the phrase match is only just under a million competing page's the fact broad and exact are the same, looks to me like this is quite a competitive niche.

In fact, just from what I've seen on Google's front page here, I wouldn't really like this niche to start my IM career in.

I don't mind the look of a site but another problem you have is this: If I was one of the many people typing in the phrase "how to cook a ham", why would I buy a product that's "not exactly ham related"?

I think it's great you've taken action but do you know where you are currently ranked? How much traffic do you get now and where is it coming from?

Don't take this the wrong way, I'm trying to figure something out for you.

Just search for "cooking wordpress theme", "recipe wordpress theme" you will find it...
Do not only think limited to clickbank products. You will find many in house affiliate programs if you search "cooking affiliate programs" or or you will find tons of related affiliate program on associateprograms, affiliatefirst directories..

Look into linkshare. They have great affiliates like buy.com. There may be some niche cooking retailers there too.
