How Would You Monetize This Site?

Hey everyone, I've been dabbling in Internet Marketing for a while but have never really taken it seriously, nor, I'm ashamed to admit, made any real money out of it. I recently set this behind me and launched SeanBluestone.com which revolves around internet marketing, programming, WordPress, Social Bookmarking, etc.

At the end of the first month I was seeing around 600 hits per day, unfortunately that's dropped back down to around 200 hits per day now, but I'm confident that I can grow this with time. In the long term I aim to make income passively from AdSense and perhaps Chikita, as well as sell a few eBooks. In the meantime however, this isn't realistic and AdSense is making me less than a dollar per day.

My question is to those who have experience doing something similar: How would you monetize this site at the moment?

If you can get your traffic numbers up and post everyday for a while, the buysellads.com program could be worth a good $1000/month for you.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

  • First thing I'd do is use <!-- more --> tags in your posts so that all your content isn't listed on one page. That means you can show adsense in each post a person reads instead of just the first one. If you can deliver really targeted ads for each post they'll get clicks, but you will probably have more luck writing indepth reviews of ebooks that are really good and affiliate linking to them.

One ebook sale is worth like 150 adsense clicks

Why not join an Affiliate Program and put your link to the products you are promoting on your website. You could get the banner link the product and place it in your source box and when anybody clicks on the banner and buys, you get the commission.

You can go to Google, choose the topic related to your website then add +affiliate program. You could be on your way to earning big bucks.

    All the best.

I've never played with Buysellads.com but looking at the other sites the prices offered are excellent. Cheers.

The <!-- more --> tip is an excellent one and I thank you for it. I'm not sure why I didn't think of that before. Rather than including <!-- more --> in every article I'm installing a plugin which replicates the same.

    Any other tips/suggestions?

    Sean,

Try to include an autoresponder box to collect email addresses. You can then make regular follow ups with your subscribers and offer affiliate products etc. Just offer them a free report or giveaway as a "bribe" to collect their email addresses.
