UK Midwifery Services need website help

This is a plea to anyone who can create a free website for the UK Midwifery Services, so that they can collect signatures for a petition to fight funding cuts.

My daughter is passionate about supporting them and asked me if I'd take on the project, but I just don't have the skills to do this.

Here are the chat messages that we exchanged.

Helen: Dad - I have a proposition for you - I am getting involved with a campaign to protect the UK midwifery services, which I very passionate about and they are asking for someone to do some web development for them (for free, of course!)
I thought of you, and wondered if you would be able to offer your services?
If you can't it's ok - let me know
16:18 me: What do they need - I'm only able to do simple Worpress sites and am not techy enough to do a big site
16:19 Helen: I'm really not sure - I will ask them to let me know what they are after and perhaps you'll know someone who could help if you're able to
16:21 Helen: Well, if I could possibly recruit someone to assist them then that would be amazing
I'm sure you know how passionate I am about good births and midwives anyway!
16:22 me: Yes, and I 'liked' your link on FB
Helen: Thank you :-) - they are aiming for 100K supporters for when they have the petition up and running
16:27 Helen: They have just told me they are just looking for something with a decent design of around 10 pages (for info, I guess) and a petition page to gather names and addresses etc
16:28 They said something like this - Hugh's Fish Fight - Half of all fish caught in the North Sea is thrown back overboard dead but not as full on

If you feel you can help this worthwhile cause then please PM me and I'll pass your details on. Will need a contact email address.

Thankyou,

Graham

Save time creating a website and simply start a free offical petition at: Introduction to e-petitions | Number10.gov.uk

Whats even better, is that your more likely to get a direct official response from the PM, and if it picks up momentum (which it could easily do, through people facebooking the petition ect), you'll likely get media coverage.

"In line with the commitments in the Programme for Government published in May 2010, e-petitions that receive 100,000 signatures or more will be eligible for debate in Parliament."

    Good-luck,

    Sam

Sam - thanks for that. I'm just the messenger here so have no more details. They want a website to help with their promotion of the cause. They already have a presence on FB

More info about what they need in the way of help.

OK - well if you need more info to get someone on board then let me know. Please let everyone know that we would be extremely grateful for any expertise, service, time, support etc etc that they could give in setting up and possibly even hosting a website.

They are not a charity however they are certainly not for profit and the main people behind the campaign are doing this as part of a larger "project" to support midwives overall. I believe they provide a lot of support towards student midwives and the lack of the promised 3000 "new" midwife roles is a major part of that - it means 3000 less placements/jobs available for the newly trained midwives, and therefore 3000 less midwives available to support labouring mums and newborns.

Also, the NHS are looking at cutting 50K jobs (not sure of the timeframe, but possible next few years) so this is looking at increasing jobs when the major agenda appears to be cutting them - hence the need to have such large support behind the petition and campaign.
