my IM regrets - tell me what you think

hello warriors

im new here to warrior forum but not new to the IM business.

i have been very down lately. i dont want to think about regret because it's a useless emotion.

but i feel the need to rant a little here since i love this forum.

so about 3 years ago (exactly) i have started my IM business. i started with the iphone download nich. wrote about 30 articles submitted them to ezine and made money ofcourse since iphone downloads were very hot then. (now you can get iphone downloads for free)

after doing that for 2 months the iphone downloads sites werent available anymore. and my business was down. that was basically then end of it all for me.

now im back to this business more eager than ever. not giving up until i succeed attitude.

picked a niche, made my website, and im just not starting with ezine again.

i have been noticing a lot of people in that niche have been submitting articles non stop since 2008. the year i started.

thats when i started feeling like crap
what if i had done a little search after the iphone campaign and started a 2nd niche and made it a success.
now im soooo behind on this niche and everyone is ahead of me.
just thinking of the money they are making versus my situation.

i have had a job that literary made me sick and had to end up in a hospital because of it. after struggling with that job for 2 years i just quit.

even though it was hard for me to leave but i had to move on cause it was effecting my health.

now jobless, 3 years after my little success i had at promoting iphones i cant help but feel regret of ever stopping my IM business.

is ezine the same as it was 3 years ago? ofcourse not now with so much more competition its harder i believe. correct me if im wrong.

i submitted to ezine 10 days ago and they are just now in the process of reviewing my articles.

i guess the reason why im posting this is for the veterans to tell me how the IM business have changed?

is ezine still thriving?

i dont want to feel bad anymore. im just learning and taking action. basically not giving up until i find success.

i guess what advice you have for me to help me move forward and never ever think of the past. cause frankly there is nothing i can do about it now.

    Welcome to the forum!

    Yes horrible things can happen IM, a lot of work can go into something to have it taken away from you. It happens to everyone at some stage.

    Don't think that because other people have got more EZA article than you that they are doing well. You can catch up.

    I'm not the most successful here by a long shot, but my advice is not to rely on EZA too much. Try different ways to get traffic, for example guest blogging where you get your article on a blog that is already successful.

    If you are writing an article anyway you have nothing to lose using EZA, but use other article directories too and other ways to promote your site. And it's worth buying a domain, even if it's just a $1 .info to host a blogger.com site... because you own it and control it.

    Ezinearticles’ traffic dropped due to the new changes at Google’s search algorithm. However, if you are a good writer and your articles are original, they will get a good ranking.

    I understand how you feel about your online business. It’s not easy to find your way.

    You could use Squidoo lenses for studying internet marketing, and for making money at the same time. If I knew how to create Squidoo lenses when I was a newbie, I would have learned many important lessons about internet marketing before spending so much with my online business…

    You must create many lenses to make enough money with them, and promote them everywhere. Have also in mind that your lenses belong to the Squidoo system, and follow their rules. Participate of the Squidu forum, and promote your lenses there.

    You should also read many posts at the Warrior forum, so that you may learn many different marketing strategies.

    Don’t buy any domain name and don’t create any website or product before learning internet marketing very well. When you’ll have enough knowledge, you won’t make mistakes.

      With the recent update in Google, EZA has taken a hard hit. Many well-ranked articles 9not all) have disappeared. As an example, an original article that I had written compeltely from my knowledge on that subject (because I was already an "expert" in that niche) slipped away from the #1 rank (not #1 page only but literally #1 rank) into oblivion.

      But in general, have a website that you own and an evergreen concept powering the website. That is going to work out in the long term and stay, and you can rinse and repeat its benefits over time for a long time to come.

        In all honesty, you are at the same level as these other Ezine Article writers. Traffic at Ezine has dipped and they are at the same position as you. If you had not stopped your work a few years ago, you might have enjoyed some success in that time but will be now starting afresh. I would personally think all of this as a blessing in disgise: all your hard work has not gone down the drain.

    It's natural to feel that way.

    Building a successful business takes a lot of time and a lot of hard work.

    Kinda like running a marathon. Any time I've set out to run for even two miles I have plenty of moments where I'd like to stop running.

    It's natural, just keep going (in the right direction) and you'll eventually cross the finish line.

      i have been reading a lot studying a lot. hopefully im in the right direction.

      damn ezine is changing things around now!!

    Don't be discouraged you can make IM whatever you want it to be. There are so many ways to make money with it. I have done so many things thus far in my very short career.
