That's generous...cuz I'd never pay more than 50 cents an hour to people who wrote 65 articles in an hour...

I would tell you, but $2 an hour is not in my price range.

I can write 2 quality articles per hour with subjects I am familiar with. I am talking about articles that have unique context and high CTR..

    However..

    $2/hour?

    Joke of the day.

You're on a marketing forum where many people make 3, 4 or even 5 figure sums a day and you want to find someone who'll write articles at $2 an hour?

This place gets crazier by the day

It can typically take me an entire day to write an article. Why? Each of my articles will make significant amounts of money for me and will most likely get me hundreds of prospects. Not only that, it is the first contact I have with most of my new prospects and I want them to be impressed and remember me and my products/services. I want to gain their respect and nurture them for years, not scare them away thinking I'm some sort of fly-by-night entrepeneur that cares more about making a buck than running a respectable, ethical and reliable business.

If you want to fail with article marketing, I think the best thing you could do is pay someone $2 an hour to write crappy, hastily written, not-thought-out, regurgitated articles for you.

Good luck - you're going to need it.

  • Allen,

I like the way you think. I'm new to all this and I'm already tired of the "how simple it all is" barrage of advice I have read about article writing.

Writing poorly is not the same thing as good enough. It's just not writing well--on line or off.

EDIT: btw - I can produce 2-3 quality articles an hour as requested in that strange opening post. They will be poor quality articles, but quality nonetheless...

I am reminded of that saying about you usually getting what you ask for, so you have to be really careful about what you ask for.

Only solution for the OP is to pay himself $2 an hour and write those articles.

      I agree - getting ridiculous!

Folks. He's new and he's likely writing this in response to the $2 per hour outsourcing post.

If you're seriously wanting to hire a $2/hour employee, post a help-wanted ad at craigslist: manila classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events. Be very specific in what you're looking for.

You can likely find someone who writes in decent if not great English. You might find someone who can write quickly. You might find someone who can follow your instructions when it comes to content and keywords. However, the odds are against you finding someone who can do two of the above (nearly impossible to find all three).

My brother went down that road a couple of times looking for full-time writers. He's pretty much given up on that. He has a couple of full-time employees in the Phillipines who handle his repetitive tasks, such as bookmarking, blog commenting, article posting, etc. and he's been very satisfied with their work along those lines.

I've tried to find a programmer and haven't been satisfied at all (even though I offered quite a bit more than the "standard" going rate in the Phillipines).

Hope this clarifies things for you.

Obviously, $2 per hour is absurd. But to answer your question, I can usually write a good 500-word article in 30 minutes if I'm working from an outline.

The more important thing is how you use the article. If you only intend to post it on a bunch of article directories, you're missing most of the opportunity. Once posted, modify the article slightly and post it to your blog. Then bookmark it on DIGG, Delicious and StumbleUpon. Then submit your new blog post to relevant blog carnivals. Then make the article into a punchy bullet point document and uploaded to all the free e-book directories. Then read the article into a microphone and post it as a podcast. Then video tape yourself talking about the topic and upload the video to YouTube.

If you did all these things with each article, you could pay $100 for each one and still make a profit. Be smart with your time. Be smart with your money.

Hmm .. well let's see since you want to pay peanuts you get what you pay for..

I will supply 2 articles per hour based on the subject I feel like giving you. These 2 articles per hour may or may not be of high quality.

Now since I work 18 hours a day 7 days a week and you are so generous to offer me $2 an hour then here is the deal.

You pay $252.00 pro-rated weekly pay ($2 an hour as you suggested), I send you 2 articles per hour which will be 252 articles by the weeks end (7 days are in the week) ..

Now because you are so generous with payment then I have a few more demands.

    1. No refunds
    2. No promise on quality
    3. You must agree to a contract of atleast 1 month

So how does that strike you ....

I will write 2 an hour tops - I think if I try to do more than that then I'm not putting the quality into them.

As for $2 an hour - like everyone else has said - that's laughable.

I agree that $2/hour is absurd in the US - so I'm guessing that he's looking for advice on where or if he should be outsourcing ( an offshoot to the $2 outsourcing thread I suppose).

My thoughts are random and complex, but I might suggest a PLR (Private Label Resell) article if you are just getting started... there are sights galore that are filled with them, and will give you a large variation. I suspect that you could even find a great deal in the WSO section of this forum.

My other thought would be to go to one of the many coding/writing/outsourcing sites like eLance or RentaCoder .. there are others, but those are 2 that I've personally used and had success with. But I should warn you that I've not seen $2/hour, but closer to $5-10/hour for articles ( of mediocre quality)

I might add that your initial question did sound like you were asking us to work for those wages though, so your next post you might want to put us in your shoes before you hit send

I can hammer out 5-6 articles in an hour if Im not screwing around and I have my headphones on!!! Writing is easy, stopping the screwing around is hard! I don't write anymore, I hate doing it so why bother.

Everyone is laughing but I see what you're saying . I'd pay $2 per hour for 3 articles if I could.

I pay $2 per article to some folks but that is in mass volume, like 100 at a time. If I'm after quality I have a guy who writes for $4 each.

ANything less than $2 an article you are going to get rubbish unless you buy in huge volume or manage to snag someone who doesn't realise the value they're offering.. If its the latter, it won't last long and they'll jack up the prices so get in while the going is good!

The OP did not say $2 per article, they said $2 per HOUR and are looking for 2 - 3 quality articles.

@ OP - Good luck getting quality for $0.67 to $1 per article.

I can write as many crap articles as you want in an hour but for $2 you would only get 5 minutes work from me and I would want a tea break.

It takes me over an hour to write my best articles, sometimes all day but it's worth taking time over them.

You get what you pay for in this world. I paid a copywriter $130 for 6 articles about a subject I had no experience of and would have happily paid more for them because they were quality and make a profit for me.

It depends on the subject, article length and the style of writing required. My previous experiences with normal website content type of writing would say that any experienced writer can roll up around 2-3 articles an hour, but at 2$ an hour!
Man, you need to rethink about your rates
I have paid writers 7$ an hour (minimum) for one article. Of course, you can get get people for 2$ in some parts of the world, but, I would not bet on their quality!
