A latest Wordpress warning!

I'm seeing a lot of folks getting a "You are not allowed to" message from the latest Wordpress release (3.1).

I lost a site because of the "bug?". I'm the admin and couldn't post anything or even update or change anything.

Be careful. I have reverted back to version 3.0.5.

Here are some current posts on the issue:

Appreciate the heads up! I have a couple sites w/ admin privileges I was going to upgrade later today. That would have been a bummer!

There were a few plugins and a lot of themes that "broke" after the upgrade, however most have now been updated to work.

That is why I like to use Premium Themes from reliable sources as their support is always top notch and fix the bugs very quickly.

I also typically wait to do the WP upgrades until all the kinks have been worked out.

Those bugs are caused most often by incompatible plugins. I personally have not had any issues thus far with any of my blogs or clients' blogs after upgrading to the latest version.

Also, there is no way you should lose your blog if you take the necessary precautions such as doing regular backups of your database using one of many available database backup plugins, and by regularily using the "export" tool which is really handy!

I absolutely agree with Karen re backups.

Once you get yourself back onto 3.0.5 get everything working again and then do the upgrade following these steps:

3.1 is working well for me - on all 4 sites I updated.

    Cheers,

I've had problems after upgrading wordpress versions, but those usually have to do with either the plugins or the theme I have installed. I usually stick to the motto: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".
