So Heres My Dialemma

I procrastinate. Its my worst flaw

I know it takes time and dedication to create a decent income online, but i find it hard to motivate myself to do soemthing and not see results for week/months.

I have just started a new website within a niche that gets around 50k searches a month. I have done a lot of on page SEO and i have created a few articles and blog comments. Plus i have bookmarked it with a few Web 2.0 sites.

Yet im still only in position 180 with this niche. In 3 weeks i dont know if this is good or not, if it isnt what am i doing wrong?

Shall i just keep writing articles and creating backlinks? If so how long will it take roughly to get to number 1 in google?

    I remember when I was in a position like that several years ago and wanted to give up on it because building backlinks was so frustrating. Writing and spinning articles for hours on topics I cared squat about...glad that time is over now and I didn't give up. Because I learned this secret, blabla, buy my ebook. LOL!

    On a serious note, when you say 50k searches a month is that broad or exact match? If it's exact match, that could mean the keyword is quite competitive and to be honest, a few article links and blog comments won't get you near the top 10 for such a term.

    Regardless of that, onpage seo is something you do once and it isn't very complicated either, so 90% of your seo will come from offpage activities, i.e. link building. You definitely have to do more than just writing articles, blog commenting and throwing out a few bookmarks.

    Do you have at least the keyword in your URL somewhere and in the titles? Are the majority of the links you built nofollow? Did you comment on blogs where the post URL has a high PR?

      my domain hasn't got my keyword in it. But th site in number one doesnt have it either.

      I have done some more research and the #1 domain has about 1500 backlinks. So i will keep building backlinks slowly and writing articles until i reach around that.

      All of my content on my site is 100% unique and highly packed with my keyword.

      If there is anyone out there that wouldnt mind helping me reach my goal of making some money online so i can go to uni.

      Il post back again when i get some more results .

      (p.s i wish i could get a realtime view of my backlinks without having to hope they get indexed haha)
