My First $100 in a Day... Well Kind of...

Well, first off, I make way more money than $100 a day on other blogs, but this new blog I just started in the IM niche 4 months ago has finally hit $100 in a single day!

My strategy was simple:

Build a list through aweber and free ebook
Build authority by posting once per day , commenting and by guest posting
Sell to the list with autoresponder and affiliate links on blog

A $100 day in just 4 months is nothing to sneeze at and I am very happy with the results so far. The occasional $3-$5 adsense click always makes me chuckle at how ridiculously good adsense can be in the IM niche. The trick is getting traffic, and that paired with authority building exercises has allowed me to make money quickly in the niche.

Just thought I'd share my latest story with you and reinforce the fact that you can be successful online in a niche you've never touched in a very short amount of time.

    Nice post man. I have been working on something similar. The hardest part is to keep posting while your not making money. It's a lot easier when the money is rolling in

      No way, some days are $0, others are lucky like today was. However, the site is consistently getting 5 subscribers per day, which hopefully means a steady increase in revenue over time. My products aren't finished yet so all I have to sell my audience are affiliate products.

      I'm hoping to finish a comprehensive ebook on how I have managed to combine blogging with list building successfully to market products in the near future.

      The gaming site I have which is making 6-10k consistently every month has a subscriber base of 10,000, numerous products built in, over 50 affiliates and took 2 years to build. I plan on doing something similar with the traffic blogger, then I will work hard to find the right people to outsource the work and keep on making products for both audiences.

    As soon as I read your post I almost jumped out of my seat! I don't know if you know who Chris Farrell is but I have recently signed up to his membership site and have been trying to get started in Internet marketing. I have been struggling. I decided to promote his website to begin with...just till I get the hang of things and make a few dollars.

    Anyway...he teaches the exact same thing you are doing.....squeeze page, traffic, then build list. So I am so happy that you are actually making money...andso fast!!! I was wondering, would you be willing to help me start driving traffic...teaching me?

      Alex,

      You can learn a lot about driving traffic on you own from various websites for free or low cost.

      I'm sure Chris's traffic blog will help.

      Also, check out NicksTrafficTricks.com, more specifically:

      1. Before you start trying to drive traffic, be clear on WHO you want to come to your site. You don't want just ANY traffic. You want TARGETED traffic. So keyword research should be your first step.

    Thanks for the response. I have decided with Chris Farrell's advice to start with forum marketing. It is very good at targeting traffic and I already have a squeeze page and a newsletter..and aweber. No I just have to implement. Thnx

      What's funny to me is that I don't see it as a unique technique, to me, isn't this the way business is SUPPOSED to be done? You build a business around services and products being distributed to an audience. I would think this way of marketing would be the norm!

      Thank you for the congrats, I hope that this way of thinking starts to take shape in many corners of the marketing world, especially this forum where so many people search for that push button method for making money.

    To those asking for specifics, I am still not finished implementing my strategy in this new blog. I have a lot going on in my life for the next month and cannot give more than what I'm already giving to the blog in terms of traffic generation and posting articles.

    My future plans include an ebook (my version of an ebook is not typical: completely online with a membership login required, but I call it an ebook anyway) and more ways for my visitors to communicate, such as a forum or membership area. These are all things I have done with other blogs and I even get members of the community to run them for me so that I can keep on creating at will.

    The real success story is my gaming blog, which I am trying to take ideas from and implement in an entirely different niche. Very exciting and fun stuff, thank you to the warriors who have shared pointers with me over the few weeks I have been here already.
