Hi fellow Warriors, I've been on the Internet Marketing scene for almost two years now, and by that I mean I've read reports, bought reports and so forth but never really done anything or found a strategy to implement.

So my question to you dear Warriors is:

What's the best method you would recommend for a Newbie who wants to start a IM Buisness?

I would recommend newbies to start blogs in microniches and use adsense.

Do not try to tackle the big niches like weightloss, gambling and so on. There's just too much competition and most newbies will most likely fail.
But in microniches there's not much competition at all, you just need to find your niche.

My recommendation is to stop reading and start implementing.

To many people (myself included) plan what they are going to do, read what needs to be done but doesnt actually do anything.

Id suggest find a niche that you have an interest about and create a blog, keep writing and writing

That's so true! Stop working with the site offline, PUT IT OUT THERE! It doesn't have to be perfect, you got the time to work with it after you have put it online.

It will also help when working with SEO. You should always put up a domain and some kind of content on a domain instead of letting the domain be inactive.
It's better to age it this way. I've done some smaller test that confirm this.

To give a simple answer, pay a coach for one to one. This will give you direction and keep you focused. If you buy a report you may or may not implement it correctly or at all, if you pay a coach he is accountable to get you results.

CONFIRM what your passionate about (think of your favorite foods, movies, music etc.) then assess your talents, Then learn from here to pinpoint and research your audience (there is no shortage of that here)

Then find who your competitors would be. Remember you are only selling if your solving. Solve their (your audiences) problems.

I completely agree with this. There are some people who say that you can sell anything as long as you know what you're doing, but to me "knowing what you're doing" involves understanding your interests, talents and weaknesses enough to choose products or services that you will really be able to sell.

I also don't think that anyone can sell thing. I think creating true success online involves choosing products that you're passionate enough about to show others how those products can truly help them. I've seen a lot of companies and entrepreneurs sell a lot of products and services they didn't particularly care about - they just did it for the money. And like I knew they would, those companies and entrepreneurs didn't last long. Heck, sometimes it's hard to sell even with a high level of passion. So can you imagine what your results would be like if you didn't care one way or the other about what you're selling?

Once you've defined the assets Darren listed in his post, you need to look for products or services that will help you sell smarter and not harder. I think a product can have real value no matter how much it costs, but if you're looking to make money then remember this:

You'll be doing the same amount of marketing for lower-ticket products or services as you would for higher-ticket items.

In fact, you'll probably end up doing MORE for low ticket products just to increase the number of your sales to make a decent profit. With high-ticket items, you don't have to sell as many to reach success. And when others see how good you are at selling high-ticket items, they'll invite you to their jv opportunities and in some cases even hire you exclusively to sell for them (this has happened to me on several occasions, mainly because I focus on products & services that are close to $1k and above).

I don't think anyone can truly tell you what product you should be selling and why. You have to know that whatever you choose is something you can be proud to promote, are interested enough in to test it yourself (so you can give honest reviews and testimonials) and willing to put the right amount of energy into. Just go with your passions - that's where most successful Internet Marketers have found their niche!

With 2 years worth of knowledge you must be a wealth of information, although I understand that you're asking due to the lack of interest or passion from what you've studied so far?

Make a list of what interests you, and start blogging.
Let the passion flow and enjoy the excitement of blogging about what gets you up on the morning.

A mentor of mine often says that it's the action you take that brings success--even if you fail once in a while.

One can continue reading, and it can go on and on, but just take little steps until you're ready to race and hit it hard.

    Good luck!

The others are correct in urging you to implement something right away. We cannot answer your question for you, as the answer will come in the form of what you're most interested and proficient in. After two years, you've probably been exposed to a wide array of IM techniques and concepts, and there are surely some that you have developed an interest in.

The key now is to implement only one established system/method until you see results. You've probably been distracted in the past by new IM courses and systems, and the key to succeeding is to forget about all that and just focus on one until you start seeing results happening. It's not as hard as it seems, and you only need to start implementing something consistently (as described above) until you see tangible progress occurring.

I am going to echo what everyone has said... Just do something!

Once you start you'll soon find what like to do then focus on that, when you have an income then analyse whats the most profitable part and focus on that.

If you'd stopped analyzing and started doing and focusing you could have be on $5000, $10,000 per month or more.

Not getting at you i just see this everyday and it makes me angry, life's too short to waste your potential.

Stop buying reports and start taking action.

Seriously there are tons of threads in WF that will help you provided you are willing to take action. Focus on a method or strategy and work on it till it starts making you money. Then scale it up to make even more money. Remember success comes only with hard work and dedication

Choose one of the reports you have sitting o your hard drive and implement it. You will always be a newbie until you take action and learn from doing rather than sitting back and looking for the miracle method that will answer all of desires. Just about any strategy can work, so long as you actually try it out. You can then tweak as you go until you make the money you want/need.

Can't suggest much that's different from what's been said already If you are good at something, offer it as a service in exchange for a suitable fee. Advertise your services at freelance portals and forums, build up a reputation, possibly a website too. It can be anything that you are skilled enough at, and hopefully something that you enjoy too! Article writing, backlink building, designing websites, article posting are some ideas that you could begin with, and just scan the "Warriors For Hire" section at the WF for more inspiration

    Good luck!

Imagine where you would be now if you had started a blog two years ago and had spent the last 24 months building backlinks and discovering what worked and what did not? Imagine how much "real world" practical knowledge you would have right now.

Start a blog, pick a subject that you enjoy and start the blog, did I mention you should start a blog? I have learned more by doing things wrong in the last year then I learned from reading WSO's. A blog is the perfect place to wet your feet and work on while you plan your next strategy and as long as it is something you enjoy, you will have fun with it and take care of it and it will grow.

I like to think of IM as gardening, you can not go out each morning and actually see how much a plant grew over the pervious day but as long as you keep at it and keep working the soil, eventually you will get your tomato.

Did I mention you should start a blog THIS WEEK?

You'll need to 1st pick a topic you know about and then do a little keyword research to see if anyone else cares about what you care about. If yes... you're in business - if no... keep looking.

I don't know that you'll get anyone to tell you that they don't make money....but what I will tell you is that I've tried things that have failed. However, every piece of knowledge I gain from things I've tried is what makes me money now. I don't know if that helps, but that's my two cents.

If you ask any Gurus, and if they are truthful, they will tell you, start building your list since DAY 1.

Easiest Way To Start As Newbie & Result Can Be Immediate
** Below are tips from Ewen Chia, and hope you won't ask me who the hell is this guy...

    1. Find Clickbank product, copy The Sales Page Header, & all important summary writeup about the products (see you don't need to write anything yourself at all), tease them, arouse their curiosity, but do not tell them they need to pay how much for the product, ask them to register to get instant access, put your opt-in form. Once they opted-in, their next landing page will be the sales page from your affiliate link. Or better still, the next landing page is to ask them to check their email for the link to access to the sales page (most will check & click out of curiosity, but not all though). This will avoid them giving you a bogus email for direct landing to the sales page.

    2. Now do whatever it takes to drive traffic to your squeeze page that you just copied from the merchant's site.

    3. Focus on driving traffic again & again, consistency will win the game eventually...

** Simple traffic driving method, post to yahoo answer. This is the most targeted traffic. Do not spam but answer their question, then ask them to check out your site...

*** If you keep answering everyday, for a month, you will get a consistent traffic flow to your site, everyday! Sit back & watch your list grows automatically & commission rolling in.

Lots of good advice in this thread already,

Of course you need to start taking action. However, there is a trick to it. The action isn't running around chaotically, thinking that you can build everything at once, implement every system out there - that will just lead to either a burnout or you will feel like you're working and working - but the results just aren't there.

The trick is to pick one and only one thing that you will be working on. And that is exactly what you're asking in your OP - so you're on right path there

You even go and word your question nicely - "start an IM business".

Because that is where a lot of people get it wrong, not treating it like a business. You seem to be on the right page there as well.

I would recommend you start building micro niche sites and monetize either through Adsense or selling physical products through, for example, Amazon. There is a trick or two to each method, but since you say you have read and bought reports, I bet that you have some about that.

Right now though you have to actually research a niche (for Adsense pick something that pays decent (I'd say over $1 a click) and doesn't have unbeatable competition, for Amazon - pick an item that costs over $100), and create a site. That is how you start, and the sooner you start and don't wander off, the sooner the results will be in!

      Good luck!

  • Start a blog, or find something on clickbank that you really believe in. Affilliate marketing or blogging are the easiest ways to get started. Get some hosting going, and start taking a shot at it! You can only learn this hands on, but its so much FUN! ( maybe frustrating at first, but once the sales start coming in, it will be worth it!)

Look through the reports you bought, and find the one that you are passionate about and go through with it. DO SOMETHING ASAP! Because even if you're in the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there!
