    I'd say getting a domain name for about $8 is always a great short-term investment. Just buy a long-tail keyword targeted one and you are on your way - even with just one page of content. Over 1 year you should get at least 365 (1 per day) visitors with little effort and a sale along the way. If you actually put effort into the site it will obviously give you a lot more back.

    Taking the time to confirm my passions and talents. That has driven me far. I did that through a lot of self help books and info like Think and Grow Rich.

    Anything that automates processes for me it's a winner. So, I normally buy software (Crazy Trey Smith was right on this one!). I think there's enough information out there, but if I can get a software that saves me time and produces results I could not have produced without it, it's a good investment

    I was going to say silver but when it comes to my online biz I have to say:

    Investing TIME to write my own applications in Visual Basic.
    It does take about a day or two to finish a application that will automate work for years to come.
    These small applications save me so much time in the long run for me.
    Instead of spending 20 minutes every day to prepare some textfile I just start up the application and the work is done within a second.

    Learning programming is very valuable for any online marketer. How many times have you not thought of a great idea but didn't want to hire a programmer and just let the idea die?
