A Cry for help from struggling marketer!! I think those burning folders are awesome, lets make one!

I just want a strategy that I can start making $10 a day that I can learn how to scale up to $100 then to $1000 per day. I can be a maniac once I learn how. My main goal is to find something that works and then I will go into workaholic for the next few years on it.

For the first year 25k, 50k, 100k, 1mil. Just show me how without it just being a course. The number can be anything, because once I find a working strategy I would like to make millions. But $50k in first year would be surreal.

I think your number 1 problem is not focusing on a certain project or group of projects. Sometimes you have to go all or nothing when it comes to this stuff. Do your homework, check resources, read, read and read some more. You'll find something that works, but it takes time, money and dedication as I'm sure a lot of people on here will tell you. I'm not expert (duh!), but I hope you find what you are looking for

  Number #1 most important thing imo...build your list as fast as possible. "If you build it, they will come".
  
  When you set out to do something, create a to do list, allocate a certain number of hours you will spend to achieve smalls goals bit by bit. I consider myself an intermediate marketer, not some big guru, but my list is growing and I plan on creating my own product and have a plan.
  
  They say the best way build your list fast is to create a product launch. I've probably been down the same exact road as you. Countless mlms, cpa, aff marketing and it wasn't until I just focused on one thing did I start seeing results.
  
  You sound motivated so that's a plus, perhaps you just need to organize a bit and keep yourself from getting distracted and focus on one thing at a time...

Big big HUGE mistakes here.

#1 - I would remove that email address as you have just opened yourself up to every spammer on the planet

#2 - Seeking a mentor or a coach should not be "here I am I will do what ever" but more along the lines of "I have a particular business model specifically that interests me, are you proficient in that kind of model?

You just walked in the restaurant, handed over your credit card, and are willing to eat what ever is fed to you. You are willing to try eating monkey brains or Colorado oysters or even a cement block on a plate?

Seriously, stop and think for a minute here.

Look at a list of ways to make money, decide which of those you want to do.

Figure out your long term goals first.

I wouldn't want someone spoon feeding me some crap when I can order caviar and get what I expected.

* edit added - most all if it does work but you really need to decide what you want first.

I was scared but now I feel like I have nothing to lose. I am embracing this forum because it has been the only legitimate place to tell the truth about many things I was curious about. My biggest problem was that I didn't have the guts to stick to something not knowing if it was certain.

I have two areas that I am going to apply myself towards for reasons below. Promoting physical products with seo, and mobile marketing.

I am personally now 99.9% turned off with digital products, and every body I know won't even look at a salespage for digital. I can do some seo, but haven't applied myself fully because of doubt.

I have no clue where to began with mobile marketing but I have that funny feeling that I had about 12 years ago when I should of started internet marketing. I wish I could hot tub time machine my way back.

Mobile marketing feels that way now. Thanks for the feedback. I can take constructive criticism.

No offense -- but it sounds like you are looking for a 'job', not to be an entrepreneur. They are two entirely different things.

And spending a 'several' hours reading books is nothing. Unless that was a mistype, if you've only spent 'several' hours reading, doing ppc, etc -- then your results are phenomenal.

In a nutshell, you need do to this.

1. Figure out what you want to do. Do you want to make things? aka product creator? Or do you want to market it? (i.e., IMer). Or, do you want to do both?

2. Like others have set, set some very specific goals for yourself. How much money is 'a lot'? $5000? $50000? etc. Figure out which activities will get you to that point.

3. You'll actually need to 'work' at it, read a lot more than just several hours, and then apply what you've learned. You'll need to figure out whether what you are doing is getting you closer, or farther away from your goal. Eventually, you'll hit upon something that works, and then you keep on doing that, but just more of it.

That's what you need to do.

But you don't have 2 problems.. You only have 1.

You're not sticking to 1 thing because you are AFRAID of missing out on opportunity.. If you do 1 thing and just keep cranking away at it.. you'll miss out on everything else... and what if..

I'll be honest with you. there are a MILLION ways to make money online.. and they all work! So just pick something!

Even if all you did was write articles. if you cranked out 5 articles a day.. and did nothing else.. I guarantee you that you'll be making serious money by the end of the year. even if the articles are written bad.. or aren't for the best keywords.. or don't have tons of backlinks.. You'd have what? 1500 articles out there?

You'd make money. trust me

We've been lied to. Knowledge is not power. Teachers are surrounded by books. University staff dedicate their whole life to literary arts and gaining knowledge.. YET most of them die broke or living paycheck to paycheck.. why? because knowledge is not power. Applied knowledge is POWER.

if you've been in IM for more than a month or two then you ALREADY know stuff... so work with that

I'm serious. even if all ya knew how to do is write articles.. write articles!

And don't tell me that you can't make SERIOUS money from just doing that...
I know a guy who did exactly what I just told ya about.. he zoned out for a whole year and every single day just kept cranking out articles.. 3-5 a day.

and he doesn't have to do a dang thing.

I make good money online.. I've helped alot of people make good money online.. but ya know what I've found?

The people I've helped that ended up making the most money are the ones that just stuck with their guns and did what they love doing and what they are already good at.. because when you ignore everything else and just focus on what you're good at.. you're gonna get DAMN good at it.. REALLY quick.

And each time you do it, you're gonna get faster and faster.. better and better.. until you're one of the best... and the best get paid the most ;0

If I took you on as a coaching student.. I could show you a way to make money with videos.. and i told ya.. look all ya gotta do is crank out 3 videos a week.. and you'll make money by following this blueprint..

If deep down inside you HATED doing videos... would you really do it?

Probably not. you'd do it for a week or two.. then stop. because it's a job... and it's not what you want to do... i speak from experience.. i've seen it over and over again.

So young jedi.. it's your move. Your fate is in YOUR hands...
figure out what you love doing.. what you're good at.
Do that. do more of it. Focus on it. Ignore the rest. get other people to do the rest. and you'll be styling...

This is EXCELLENT advice and anyone reading it should get some good information out of it! I needed to hear this! I get lazy and afraid also at times and I'm not saying the OP is lazy by any means...I'm saying I am. This just kicked me in the rear and got me motivated!

I also want to get off track at times. I know I need to focus on what I am doing and nothing else for right now. Thanks for taking the time to write this!

I totally agree with you. You hit the bulls eye with that piece of advice.

Once you find your passion and start working on it, you will find that working becomes a pleasure and the quality of work that you produce would be excellent.

Exactly what I was thinking Andy.

To the OP, you need to stop moaping about and just get to work. Like Andy said, stop waiting on someone to tell you what to do and just start somewhere. If somebody holds your hand the whole way through success, how do you know that when they let go you will still be successful?

I mean this in the nicest way possible if I am coming across as a d*** :p

The problem with all the books, courses, videos, advice etc is that what you want is to be given some choices of things you could do, make a choice to do one of those things then choose someone who is good at those things to mentor and encourage you to persist in those things. I hear your frustration at going not far enough in any area to succeed.
Jarrett sounds like hes onto it. Maybe talking it to death will help clarify a direction. Sitting alone in front of a computer can be pretty hard sometimes. Thank goodness for forums and forumees.

You struck a chord. Instead of doing videos, blogs, mp3's and a hundred other things just do the 1 thing you do well. My base is too broad! Time to narrow it down!
