What Should I Do Here?

I just signed up for 1 month of free hosting and I get to pick a domain for it. I had originally planned to implement a strategy I found here but decided against it because of the additional investment required.

I'd like to make some quick money, perferably as most as possible. Any ideas? Free advice would be great but I'm also willing to pay for a reasonabely priced product that could show me how to take the single, yet to be named domain and hosting resource I have and make some quick cash. My hosting is with intuit so I'm not sure if I can use wordpress.

what are your intentions, you just stated what you have. you can sell it but since it is a new domain name profits will not have a high margin, build a website on it and monetise that and have an offer

Well thats the thing, theres so many different directions this could take. Adsense, affiliate marketing, I've tried many different things and haven't had much success. What would be the best option for short term profits?

I can share what's worked for me.

Develop a blog and use it as your central hub. Have a nice design, with a good logo, and develop a brand around it. I wouldn't integrate Adsense into it at all (some will disagree with me). Integrate affiliates occasionally into your posts and different areas of your blog, but don't push the sale to hard. Use it as a way to facilitate long term relationships and trust around your brand. Yes, there are a million ways you can go...but, that's how I've done it.

You have one month to make money (because your free hosting is only one month)?

That's a tall order and you don't want to spend any additional money but just to earn.

I'm not a master in internet marketing and still trying some stuff to find the best way to earn some money. But one thing I did learn is that I have to spend money (making every penny count) and it takes more than one month to see any significant income.

I am sure you have heard "You have to spend it to make it". That holds true to an extent. If you are wanting to make a dollar here and a dollar there you can do it with no money upfront but if you are serious about making some money you will have to get your elbows dirty and work.

There are many, many areas that you could do this in and I think before you jump into something you need to seriously do some research.

Choose a low competition niche, Pick a keyword rich domain and start a blog on that topic, Make few posts and use your affiliate link within the posts and banners in the sidebar. Drive traffic to your site through backlinking, bookmarking etc.

Of course there are tons of other ways but this is what works for many people including myself..

I would recommend offering some type of service. What can you do that would be valuable to others? Can you write articles? Can you create graphics etc. etc.?

Thanks for everyone's replies. I have read a few books and many forum posts on IM.

What I decided to do is devote my website to promoting a single Amazon product through their associate program. I named my domain after a long tail keyword that gets 8100 local searches per month. The keyword is specific to the product and the product is a pricey top selling item.

I wrote a short review on the product, created a large clickable area on the page that includes a picture of the product, key features, and a call to action.
