Online income just a pipe dream?

All over the net we as people are bombarded with advertisements of "get rich quick" systems and softwares, but in all honesty is this just a pipe dream, unatainable for the newbie as they are branded by the select few who have made a success from internet marketing??

Most people will have no idea at all where to look, what to ask,and who to trust in this extremely competitive environment. So the golden question remains, can a sustainable income be made online and more importantly how can it be done??Everyone is sick of reading about the newest "software" that will make you money while you sleep, lets get serious here,we all should know better and should strive to help eachother achieve our goals as fellow entrepenuers, not scammy and shoddy jv partners.....

I see you are new here. First of all let me welcome you to the forum.

Trust me a few years ago I was in the same boat as you. I was bombarded with get rich schemes and make money online opps that were out dated and scams. Yes there are alot of them out there.

No its not easy. Just like anything in life you have to put in some work to get some outcome as I very quickly realised. Being an action taker I wanted to educate myself on Internet marketing and followed a very GOOD course called the 30 day challenge. Its free just google it.

It changed my outlook on making money online and helped me to get my first $1 online lol!

I then found WF which has helped me take it to the next level. Find my niche market, and develop my own business model.

I am now working on a second stream of passive income to complement my Facebook Business model. I have developed 2 of my own products and am making money on a daily basis.

Yes it is most definatly possible.

    Educate Yourself
    Take Action
    Be consistent
    Keep Learning

I hope to hear your success stories a few months down the road.

    Good luck!

I monetized very quickly but was fortunate enough to be able to sort through the garbage to get to the goods. After pulling apart several information products that I bought in the Warrior Forum I was able to launch an SEO and Web Development business. I was fortunate enough to have already had the best sales training in the world and was able to get my hands on the best automation tools and learn how to use them effectively for my clients.

This is WORK. Will be WORK until you can hire a staff, and don't expect your computer to become an overnight ATM machine. Build a viable business plan (on one page in bullet points or in outline format) after settling on a business model that works for you and then work on getting sustainable growth.

    Hi Jahshaka,
Thanks for your post. It reflects what a lot of us feel. Right now, I feel that if you pick one system and exclude all others one would be better off. Just learn to be the best at the system you pick. Take action, action, action and keep going. There will be success.

I'll give you a real life example...

About 3 months ago I dove in head first to IM. I knew nothing, I studied hard for about a month. I was lucky, I didn't buy a bunch of stuff because I found this forum first.

I tried a bunch of stuff for a couple months, and quickly realized I needed to focus on something if I was going to make any money. I chose to focus on providing services for now. It's more a "real" business to me. I have actual customers that need my service. Before I was trying some affiliate stuff and it just didn't do anything for me.

My business grossed about 12K last month and is on track to have an even better March. I still work a full time job, I'm not living the dream yet, but I'm really getting a handle on how things work online.

I'm getting ready to diversify and create some products (not in IM) and really start applying the IM tactics I've learned to promote my products.

I had no mentoring, bought no expensive coaching programs, and didn't spend thousands of dollars on WSOs.

I think the key is find something that makes sense to you, that you are passionate about, and be the best there is at it. Learn how to promote your business, how to increase conversions, and how to extract max value out of your customers and you'll have no choice but to be successful.

Many of the "Get Rich" (left off quick on purpose) products are sold by rich people.

Whether you buy them or not is your choice.

However learn from the whole process not just the products. Learn from their sales pages, their emails, their forum posts and even conversations you might have with some of them.

It never helps to be insulting or sarcastic when you are trying to learn.

Also get to know people here on the Warrior forum. You will soon have a sense of who you want to follow and learn from.

Join the War Room and first read everything By Allen Says.

    My best.

George Wright, P.S. I mostly hear the word newbie from newbies. You said "Most people have no idea where to look." Well now you are here and you can help spread the word to "most people."" As to your "Golden Question" "Can a sustainable income be made online." Yes. "We all should know better." HUH? "Scammy and Shoddy jv partners." What on earth are you talking about?

The brief answer to your question 'how can it be done' is to find or create something people want to buy and sell it to them. It sounds simple but that's it.

The bigger question is how to educate your self so you can do this - and if you already know there aint a red button you can press then i think youre smart enough to keep looking around for real info like - how to find or create a product to sell / how to get traffic etc.

I quit my job back in 2001 and have never looked back. I'm not technologically proficient and if a guy like me can do this, just about anyone can.

What it does take is focus, discipline, the right attitude, the right mindset, and a willlingness to learn basic business fundamentals that will never go out of style.

It can get overwhelming though as there is easily 1,000 times more information out there today then there was ten years ago. This is where focus and dedication really shine. It's vitally important to focus on one concept at a time, master it, get it to profitability, and then going onto the next thing.

    Welcome to the forum.

Nothing is impossible. But certainly some things are harder than others to achieve.

There has been a lot of debate over the actual stats recently, but the consensus is that 95% of all people who legitimately attempt to do IM as their full-time income provider...fail.

You must become a "master" at something. It can be writing, niche research, data analysis from ppc campaigns, whatever, but you must pick something and absolutely commit yourself to becoming an expert.

The best way to avoid failure is to take something you're passionate about and figure out if there's a way you can monetize it through IM.

If you love working out, then make it your business by creating a product with a unique selling point that has your special approach.

If you're good with your hands and love building things, then create a product that offers schematics and plans that other people with your same interest can download for a fee.

If you like creating websites and doing design, market yourself on WF and DP as a service provider.

There are so many ways to fail in IM...but there are so many ways to succeed also.

Find your passion, take action by researching every WORD ever written on this forum towards monetizing that passion, and start working. You can do it!

    Hey Jahshaka,

"Whether you think you can or whether you
think you can't, you're right." - Henry Ford.
Im sure we all 'hear, feel and understand' your frustrations ...
    (hell, I've been there).

I guess it all starts with you.

I recommend, writing down all the stuff you're frustrated about.
What you dont want (in regards to making money online)

    i.e.

I dont want to sit here all frggn day writing articles.
I dont want to 'spam people' to make money.

Then write down what you're good at, and LOVE doing.

    i.e.

I like helping people lose weight.
    I like helping people _________.

Then you can compare those two lists, and find solutions to
what you dont want, in order to get what you do want.

    i.e.

If you dont want to sit and write frgn articles all day,
but you want to make money from articles that help people lose weight ...

    your solutions could be;

outsource the articles, outsource the submissions.
JV with articles writers, to write the articles in return for ______ (your skills?)
spin articles from the library/old magazines etc.

See how this can work for you and makes it easier?

Also, when any 'Opportunities' like 'the next greatest miracle push button
money making thing' comes along you can match it with your 2 lists above ...

and if it doesnt fit your criteria and direction ... you can disregard
it quicker and move on faster.

I learnt this the hard way, it's also called 'trial & error'.
The good thing about 'trial & error' is that you learn ALOT.

But if you're frustrated with failed attempts and just
want to find something that Works For You (and not something that ONLY works for other people) ...

Then this method of filtering 'quality from crap', might help you.

You can do this quickly 'in your mind', but it's best when it's all out on paper,
so you get a visual and can 'quick reference' it, whenever the next 'big launch' comes out ...

This will save you getting frustrated when you buy it,
find out it doesnt work FOR YOU, ask for your money back ... and that 'empty' feeling you get ...

after the product didnt live up to the hyped up sales page.

If you TRULY want to make it your goal ...
keep cracking at it!! and find something you'll actually enjoy/like doing

    - aj

    p.s.

    I started selling on eBay.
It taught me alot about copywriting, selling, customer service and Paypal/eBay FEEs LOL.

You just need to remember that we are doing pretty much the exact same stuff that salesmen and marketers have been doing for decades - way before the internet or even personal computers were invented.

    I know.
    I was that soldier.

What makes working online exciting is that you have a global market to go after all from your dining room table at the click of a button.

But you still have to do the work. The selling and the marketing.

You can use some tools to make things happen - to get what you have got in front of the right people - and you can hire some cheap labour to help you if you wish...but it comes back down to having something that is of equal or greater value than the price you are asking for it in the eyes of a big market of potential customers and then making sure they all see it.

I've lived of the income from my online business since 2002 so of course it can be done.
I make more money than any of my friends and I work very little compared to them.

I believe most people fail because they dont try enough different things. I dont think many online marketers started out and were successful with their first project. My first 2 years was extremely hard. I did eat cheap oatmeal and pasta every day because I didn't make enough money to buy more expensive food.

Stop reading all these guys and start to build your sites. It doesn't matter how much you read, you will never find a get rich quick technique, because there are none.

Outsourcing is extremely cheap so you should be able to start up several sites and products at the same time for a very low cost.
Just continue to build until you find something that works for you.
When you do, outsource more and build 1000 of the same websites/products.
Upscale all the time when you find something that work.

I see where you are coming from to think such things however if you really want something to be, it can be. You just have to know what direction to go in and how to attract the right things in your life. Thoughts are Reality, it is everything you create. Do not limit yourself and become hopeless.

Online marketing and IM is *not* those "Mass Money Explosions" systems as you can see offered anywhere.

In fact, i avoid all those "systems" since i know there is (mostly) only one who gets rich using them: The ones who sell them.

The "real" internet marketing for me means mainly hard work, building web sites, niche research, keyword research, SEO, knowing how to write, product creation.

Can you make money with this? Hell yeah. Is it easy? No. Does it happen "quick"? Hell no.

There is nothing secret about it.

Tip: Let your common sense do its thing! Recently i get many emails again about such "one button fortune SYSTEMS" <-- and each and any single email reads like the second coming of christ. If your logic tells you there must be something fishy since you cannot make a fortune over night "with a click of your mouse" - then its likely you are on the right track

Those marketers only distort that whole image what online marketing really is about.
