Hi dmak02,

First, I know you are looking for help, but this is not the place to say you can't get a hold of Jenn Dize. It's unprofessional. You can say you are having problems contacting your current writer, but naming them is not cool. At least not the way you did it.

Second, to say Shay is expensive in a public forum is even more unprofessional. That's a judgment call, but people need to decide for themselves.

Third, why would a ghostwriter want to write for someone who may criticize them in a public forum? Believe it or not, they don't write for anyone who pays their rates - they do refuse on occasion.

Ah yes, the life of a ghostwriter. You only have one client, and you must respond to all of their demands immediately. Need a 50 page ebook by the end of the day? No problem. I understand that you may not have had a chance to give me any advance notice (though you had the idea for said ebook for 6 weeks).

And Heaven forbid if we charge a rate that's enough to feed our families!

Dmak, not only did you slam me in this thread, but you even criticized your current writer by name in the OP.

You don't have to worry about paying my rates. I wish you luck with whatever writer you choose - but it won't be me.

Yeppers. You really need to think about what you say about someone, publicly, because it lives forever on the internet, and it can cause real harm to people if you imply that they don't respond quickly enough or they are overpriced.

It would be more expensive for you in the long run to hire a cheap writer..

Shay, Jenn, Bev and more all charge amazingly good rates for the quality work produced... to say any of them are "expensive" shows a lack of understanding on your part...

I listened, and I removed it. But seriously, what is with everyone bashing on me? I just gave my opinion of what I thought is expensive. I didn't mean any harm.

Try not to degrade the people who charge for such rates. Not every ghost writer has these poor qualities.

I don't think it's wrong that you mentioned a price that you thought was expensive. However, one person did and the replies snow balled from there.

Price is definitely subjective. What one person thinks is expensive the next person thinks is peanuts.

HOLD ON! I didn't say Jenn was expensive. I have worked with her before, and I was willing to pay whatever the bill was. I just said I couldn't get a hold of her.

Dmak, I know my rates are not for everyone, and that's okay. I have repeat clients that are happy with my rates and my work, so I am happy.

I have heard nothing but good things about Jenn. She is a great writer and a cool person. You need to treat her right.

Anyways, I apologize to those who I may have offended. However, everyone is looking for a different price. I am seeking for decent quality and a good price, so I may have been out of line when I said they were expensive. It's true that they may give superb quality which compensates for such high rates. I HOPE I DID NOT OFFEND anyone in this post.

Hi dmak02,

I assumed you meant no harm, and apology accepted.

Allow me to try to explain it from another point of view.

When you mentioned that you could not get a hold of your ghostwriter, some may have got the impresion that she was not reliable in her communications. You did not say that, but some could take it that way.

Why? Because we have all read posts where Warriors go missing with other people's money, never to return.

As far as the damage that can be done by you saying, "WOW! Shay is expensive." Let's say someone is looking for a ghostwriter through the Warrior Forum. There's a good chance they will read this post based on its subject line. They see in response #3 that Shay is highly recommended, so they consider using her - BUT then they see that someone thinks she is expensive, and not just expensive, but 'WOW!' expensive. What would you think if you saw that written about another writer in another forum?

In effect, your judgment call (and you admit that affordability is subjective) can cost her business.

Please understand that I am (and was) giving you the benefit of the doubt. My intention is not to bash you, or anyone else, but to explain how your actions could be misconstrued as damaging unprofessional.

Just trying to clear things up a bit.

One more thing. Apart from the points I mentioned already, you have handled yourself very well in the face of criticism.
