Should I Transfer Articles From Directory to My Blog?

Should I Transfer Directory Articles to Blog?

I used article marketing heavily because even though my website ranks high in the search engines with my top key words, it is a very niche market and most people aren't searching for it everyday. Article marketing allowed me to write articles on vary topics that tied in well with my products. I have definitely noticed a decrease in sales over the past few days.

Question??? Although I alternately posted both to directories and to my blog, which ranks well, most of my articles were published to directories. I was thinking that with the Google change I may want to transfer the articles I wrote for directories and place them on my blog, like maybe one a day. Most of my articles from my blog rank well. Do you think this is a good idea? Will I get some sort of duplicate content penalty since the articles have already been published elsewhere? I am assuming that with the directory rankings being so low, that my articles published on my blog will rank better?

Any thoughts on this appreciated!

I would put all my articles on my blog first. You haven't done this but there is still a lot of value for your readers to have all your content in one place.

I would set them up to post daily until they are all posted. I would also link the posts to other relevant posts on your blog.

Forget about duplicate content. For what you are doing It is a myth.

ok, so there's no penalty for posting your own articles in directories and on your own blog?

    No penalty at all.

Post it to your blog first, wait for it to get indexed, then submit wherever else you'd like.

That way the content is seen on your site FIRST, and Google credits you as the originator of that content...which over time can lead your blog to being seen as an authority site for that content...which is a very good thing for your SERP rankings.

    • Thank you for the advice. Other than making my articles available to my readers, will I get any other benefits, since I did not post articles to my blog first and wait for them to be indexed? I am hoping that the posting them to my blog will cause them to be higher than the directories, is it too late for that or should I concentrate more on writing new articles?

The upside you can discover only by doing it (and even then it'll only be with difficulty, because one never quite knows "where one would have been instead if one hadn't done it").

One thing's for sure, though: there's no downside.

For the really small amount of time it takes gradually to do this, I wouldn't hesitate; nor would I worry about what I could have done instead with that time.

Its your articles so dont hesitate to transfer your articles to your own site. But of course remember to place your articles in your site first before submitting it to directories.
