100% Abandonment -- What's Going On?

I wonder if fellow Warriors could shed some light on a problem I am having with my site, DTP Master

I relaunched the site over the weekend with an e-mail to my list. I got 153 visits to the site as a result. Of those, 21 clicked through to the checkout (I have a tracking/redirect script to count this), but nobody completed the purchase. Nobody. Zip. Nada. 100% shopping cart abandonment.

At first I thought it might be problems with ClickBank, so I set up a mirror page with payment processing just by PayPal, but again, although there were several attempted purchases, there were no sales. What is putting people off at the last minute?

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Shaun

Hmmm, that's strange. I went though the checkout just short of purchasing and it looks okay.

Maybe they choked on the price at the end?

Well, the only time I ever do something like that is when the price isn't clear. Then I click through as if I was paying, but then click away.

Do you have a way of identifying who went through the checkout process before abandoning it?

If so, you might want to contact a few of them to see why they made that choice.

And I have to agree with others here that a hard to find price is a big cause of incomplete sales. Often I'll skim an ad quickly the first time through and one thing I look for is the price of the offering. If I don't see it, I'll click through to get the price so I have all the details when evaluating the ad for a potential purchase.

Unfortunately, I can only track them by IP address. I can see there were a couple of people who tried to purchase twice, which made me wonder if they'd tried once, been turned down, and tried again.

Is the price hard to see on this site? DTP Master It looks pretty obvious to me, but I'm so close to it now it's hard to be objective.

    Shaun,

IMHO people prefer to buy products instead of advice...

(aka the Headline needs some work)

    Cheers,
