Attention CB Vendors: Your order form may be broken!

So I was in the process of doing a test purchase for my latest product, until I got the following error after I hit submit:

"The web server cannot find the file you asked for"

So I tried again and got the same error. I thought there might be a problem with the test credit card number, so I tried with my real credit card. Same problem. As soon as I hit the pay button it returned a blank page with the error message.

I went ahead and tried all my other CB products. They ALL had the same error. Now for the important bit: even though an error page is returned, the card payment actually still goes through.

I'm starting to think this isn't a recent problem, who here has had an increase in the number of people making multiple purchases? What happens is the customer gets the error page and simply tries the order form again, not knowing that they are getting charged each time.

If you have a CB product I strongly recommend you check this now.

I've been having sales all day and no issues yet.....I have been seeing good sales for the past 2 months with no complaints.
Today I did have one person say that paypal payment went through but the cb page didnt come up. That was just one person, do you have the exact time when this happened...how many hours ago? I can check if that sale happened at the same time.

This happened last night when I tried and just now. I tried both the fake cc number supplied by Clickbank and my own real cc. Upon hitting 'pay' it returns a blank page. I tried this on all my products across different accounts.

Hmm, For me it was about 7 hours back. You'll prolly have to wait till monday for this i guess.

Btw, I have a CB rookie question.

I am finally getting down to doing PPC for my own products.
how do i go about building my product link to my own product with a tid?

Not sure what you mean exactly. But when I do PPC for my own products I open a seperate account and use it to make aff links with tids. Essentially I become my own affiliate, this is so I can track my campaigns with tids. Simple add /?tid= to the end of your aff link to track tids, so it would look like this: hxxp://9d7cdl11mumbojumox3k8p.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=[yourtidhere]

Hope that helps, anyway lets not get off topic

Be very careful with this - google don't like it and can ban you very easily for just doing this - direct linking through a blatent affiliate link is not allowed - best to setup your own landing pages, squeeze pages, blogs etc... I know a lot of people who have been banned from this - especially with Clickbank affiliate links.

Guys this is a huge problem, I still have it and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Even my customers have started contacting me about it. I'm sure there are many Clickbank vendors on here. So please check now and report back!

We are having this problem too.

EDIT: On multiple products, with upsells and without upsells. Definitely a problem.

I've noticed this too. It isn't consistent but I did have some duplicate orders lately.

      We're seeing this today too.

Would be cool if a few Clickbank vendors could run a test transaction through their checkout to see if they're seeing it too.

Yes, I'm experiencing the same problem. When you hit the 'Pay Now' button, you're taken to a page that tells you the following:

"The web server cannot find the file you asked for.

Check the URL to ensure that the path is correct."

I wonder if this is related to the slump in sales I have noticed in the past couple of days? Though on hitting the 'Pay Now' button I DID receive an email to say that the transaction was successful.

I have had a few duplicate purchases lately too.

I have generated a support ticket regarding this and I await their reply.

Yes the duplicate sales are because people get the error page and think their order didn't go through, so they try again.

If you haven't already you can check to see if your account is affected by creating a test credit card number in your Clickbank account under the 'account setting>my site' tab, and then use it on your order form.

I'm surprised I haven't seen more about this problem reported anywhere else.

What are you talking about? Who said anything about Google or direct linking? He simply asked how to track tids through the aff link.

Anyway lets not get off topic.

Well they didn't respond to my ticket yet so I called them. They were not able to replicate the problem on their end...the test purchases went thru OK. So, I'm not sure what the issue is. I tried on multiple browsers, same issue on my end.

OP - Did you call or submit a ticket?

UPDATE: It's working OK now, miraculously soon after I got off the phone with them. Of course I'm sure they will say there was no issue in my ticket, as usual. I will keep checking and if it persists will update again. Call my a cynic but I have NEVER had CB admit to having a problem on their end...ever.

OP if you haven't called them yet, you should get on the phone. Their number is 208-345-4245

Had 2 days of appalling sales both on our own
products and as an affiliate, then shot back up
on Saturday - Sunday, may not be related.

    Thananks for letting us know!
And yes, it was strange not to see any sales at all, also CB lost a lot of cash due to this kind of problem, but errors are unavoidable, as Google a week ago also broke down 150 000 gmail accounts.. you can find this info in internet, as i don`t want to brake rules by posting links in to forum as it may be promo, so trying to be safe.
