Ahh, the holidays are right around the corner. Gotta love this time of year, as it is a good time for self-reflection and what to be thankful for in your life, especially with how hard the times have gotten as of late.

I thought of an interesting series the other day and although I'm on a busy time schedule, I will try to fulfill my idea each and every day until it's complete!

The idea? The twelve days of Christmas - Article Marketing style!

For the next 12 consecutive days, I'll be posting up a tip that will show you how to get the most out of your article marketing efforts.

I know there are a lot of new warriors who join each and every day, so this series will be catered more to them, as well as the article marketers out there who either haven't started or those who know article marketing, but don't know how to suck the most out of their articles.

I'm all about giving back, especially around the holidays. So, with that said, here's the first tip to kick off the series!

Keywords Are Your Best Friends

Article marketing is simple, but there are a few elements that are necessary for your success. One of the most vital elements of article marketing is knowing how and when to use keywords. Missing this critical step could cost you in the long run.

Keywords are crucial in the article marketing process. Knowing how to research your potential keywords can mean the difference between success and failure. You can have the most well-written article out there, but if you're improperly using your keywords, that article won't matter, and the performance of it will drop like a rock.

When writing your articles, it is absolutely essential that your target keywords be in the titles of your articles. This helps it rank in the search engines. So, if people are looking for the keyword phrase "how to make money online" and you have an article that targets that phrase, you need to have that in your article title. If you don't, your article will not show up in the search engine rankings when people are searching for that phrase.
And getting organic search traffic is one of the best methods of generating traffic, because not only is it targeted, but it's FREE.

Make sure that your keyword is placed at the beginning of your article title for optimum search engine rankings. Also, you want to make sure that you at least mention your keyword in the first and last paragraph of your article, but don't overdo it. Keyword stuffing your articles can get you penalized in the search engines. You want to make sure you have a good balance and have your article make sense to the reader.

Stick to those elements and you will start to see more success with the articles you continue to write!
