Not getting traffic to my site

I have two sites prodreview.com and weightlosslessions.com,I promote Amazon products on these websites and I use WP-ROBOT wordpress plugin to pull products from Amazon site ,I am not getting traffic ,someone told me that you use duplicate content ,you will never be ranked in google ,do whatever you do ???is that right ???

    well buddy if you use autoblogging software then google will not give you rank for that keyword because it was already available on other sites before you . you will not get traffic unless you ranked for some keyword with healthy monthly search.

    if you are serious about earning money then start posting your real content.

    you can also do one other thing , rather then posting contents from amazon, ebay via wp-robot , post auto blog through rss feed of some relevant site and post it on your site with some major changes in title ( must be unique) , content etc. In that way you will get some idea on what to write.

    How long have you been working on these sites?

    There are so many factors to SEO that I don't even know where to begin, but simply autoblogging duplicate content that is already on the web will certainly not work.

    You will need to create original content as well as any scraper plugins, you will need to get some high quality backlinks to your site and you will need to ensure that your traffic actually enjoys your content (see bounce rates, time on site and return rate).

    The premise of your question is huge and could contain many variables that effect the answer. Does duplicate content rank? Sometimes. Is there a penalty now for duplicate content on different domains, possibly. How can you fix it, well thats actually easy - write your own content!

    Pick 1 of your sites. Let the other one just sit there.

    I had a look at weightlosslessions.com. Is lessions supposed to be lessons? If so, you should change it.

    Add quality - get rid of all the mumbo jumbo ads. Don't put so many ads on your pages - add content instead. Repeat until your eyes cannot handle it......

    Adwords is very dangerous if you don’t know how to use it. You can waste all your money for no results in the end.

    The best free traffic generating method is article writing; however you have to submit original articles. You must also write original articles at your sites. Now, duplicate content has no changes to get traffic. Read about Google’s change.

    If you can afford it, purchase articles written by ghostwriters. You can find the best content online at Constant Content, but their articles are expensive. You can find cheap articles at elance.com and odesk.com but their quality is doubtable… Anyhow… You could also write your articles yourself and pay only an editor for improving your documents a little bit and correct any mistakes. You can find cheap editors at elance and odesk.

    Ezinearticles is having problems now due to the changes at Google’s search algorithm. They are delaying too much to accept new articles and their traffic is not the same… I’m getting traffic from Searchwarp, which is a very nice article directory.

    Another good traffic generating method is to answer questions at Yahoo answers and Quora, posting your sites’ links.

    You can also promote your sites through Squidoo lenses and Hub pages.

    Here is a lens that teaches you how to create many Squidoo lenses without wasting time:

    Squidoo was not beaten by the new change. You have to follow their many rules, though. If your lenses’ content will be good and you’ll respect their rules you won’t have any problems.       Thanks for your insight on using Searchwarp. I've never heard of it & I'll check it out. Also for the Squidoo lense training link - I'll also check that out and possibly learn from that.

      Your general advice is good: Google knows what's going on. What they really want is for their searches to 'work'. In other words, when someone types something in the search bar, they want the first search they see to be the EXACT domain that the searcher is looking for. They want the searcher to be happy enough with that search to stay on the page for several minutes.

    If you want traffic then get out there on forums, other websites, guest posting, or w/e suits your fancy to convince your prospective audience that you are worth taking a look at.

    I've gotten to page one, ranks one, two, three and four with only ONE page up on my blog. In fact, I'm there right now. I've also gotten there with only 'autoblog' postings (although I've never used WP Robot - it actually looks much better than the autoblog poster that I've used).

    I think the key is to attempt to rank for keywords that haven't been searched very much. I looked at your website-weightlosslessions. First of all, did you misspell "lessons"? That might have been a big mistake. How can you rank for "lessions", when it should be "lessons"? I get the impression that you'd like to give people training of some sort on how to lose weight. Also, your website seems to be nothing but advertisements. How is this training to lose weight? If you gave potential customers some concrete information on weight loss - such as: cut down on carbs, load up on protein, take a 30-minute walk six days a week, then maybe Google would give it some love. When someone clicks on your site, are they supposed to buy everything they see in order to lose weight? They really need some direction to go to. For instance, do this, go here, buy this and why they should buy it. Sorry, buy your site is too confusing for me and I'm sort of an expert on weight loss.

    I attempted to look at 'prodreview.com' -- but, I got a 404 error. Hopefully, that is just a temporary problem for you. Feel free to PM me with any questions. I'm not selling anything here. I'm sort of new to Warrior Forum - but, not new to the web.

      Have you considered using video? You can get a lot of traffic from youtube if you know how to optimize your videos properly.
