stock.xchng - the leading free stock photography site - this is a nice site if you want some free images. I doubt that you will find Brad Pitt in there, but there are some nice ones for royalty free use on your sites.

Just because a photo or image is on many sites does NOT mean that it's okay for you to use it without explicit permission. Those sites may have paid for the rights or acquired them somehow without you knowing. They also may just be stealing the image. You have no way of knowing and trust me, you don't want a lawsuit over a lousy picture. And in case you think that's unlikely, look up Getty Images and see how aggressive they can be.

I have an annual subscription to clipart.com - they have an excellent and substantial collection of photos, as well as illustrations and clipart. And they have a search tool so you can find relevant photos for your blog or site.

If you are on a budget, you can buy a one month subscription and then during that month, just go in and download a lot of pictures to your computer- enough pictures to last you a long while.
