Got a huge email list...now what? noobie question to veterans

So after countless days on the computer over the years and after being told by every internet marketer to build a list, i have finally crawled out from the shadows to have strong success with this concept. I have an email list of people. My very own "list" that i was told 1,234 times to build. The big questions is now what? What is my next step to online money making? I am hoping to get answers here on this forum because I know there is a lot of talent on here and a lot of people finally looking to help and not just sell me something.

    First of all, don't go silent till you've figured out what to do with your list, or they'll forget that they signed up and think you're a spammer then next time you mail them.

    Set up a "blog broadcast" to automatically email them whenever you post on your blog. And then blog regularly -- you'll kill 2 birds with one stone.

    Mail it every day, get them in the habit of expecting your email. Don't worry about the unsubscribes, they are worthless anyway, only worry about the people who are your openers and clickers.

    I have no idea what kind of list you have, I build mainstream consumer lists to mail all kinds of offers to each day so I'm not limited but I'm sure there is no shortage of offers you can be sending them each day as well as decent content. If you mention the list type it would be a lot easier to give you specific examples.

      I don't agree with the "mail them every day" mentality and I am not a
      worthless person to have on your list.

      Please.... I do not want to hear from you simply because it's a new day!

      In the same way that you don't want a worthless person on your list,
      I do not want to be on a list run by a worthless list owner who thinks
      I need to hear from them more than I hear from my own family, simply
      because they have the erroneous perception that I may possibly have
      some sort of memory retention problem.

      If you are using something good like Aweber, your list will be reminded
      where they signed up and how to unsubscribe if they so choose.

      If you want to build a relationship with your list and keep them wanting
      to hear from you, then provide them with quality, not quantity!

    One tip that worked for me was to give your email list a freebie before you try to sell them anything!!! anything free....it could be info free plr free advice on a computer virus...anything but give them something and they will always open your emails...

    Over how long a period have you been building it?

    What have you been sending them so far? I hope the early people on your list haven't been receiving nothing at all from you "over the years"? If so, it may be - by this stage - that only the very most recent joiners will be responsive at all. Anyway, it'll clearly help people to advise you further, if you can give a little bit more information about what you've been doing so far, I think.

    Find out what is their biggest problem... In other words,
    figure out what they want and offer it to them. You can do
    this surveying them.

    But remember that before you try to sell them something you
    have to build a good relationship so give good tips and
    advice for free.

      Thanks everyone for the replies. I want to use the list to obviously market products, and i like the idea of giving something away for free first to gain a sense of comfort from them.

      Answer:I have been building it for 1 week

      Answer: I haven't emailed them so far they are still fresh.

    offer them some valuable free content, So the next time you try to sell them something they are more likely to open your email.
