Youtube question Please answer if you can

I posted a video in youtbe and got number 7 ranking on first page of results for my keyphrase in youtube results took about 2 -3 hours, next day I dropped off to page 3
after uploading the video I pinged the link with pingler and posted a bookmarks (gigg, facebook etc) about 4 sites as far as dropping the video link.

So the question is, anyone know why the rankings dropped so quickly and
what would be the most effective method of getting the ranking back?
Thanks for the input
Barry

    Hi Barry

It does depend quite a bit on what your video is. The rankings for a new video will take time to settle down anyhow. My most successful info video maintains its rankings because many sites have linked to it. I didn't ask them to do this. It just answered a problem in about 4 minutes 30 seconds and got shared around.

When ever I have a new video I send the url to my list so its always gets a new start.

If your video is of no interest to real people then it will not get shared. So make it shareable - (New word of the day)

Hey Ken Thanks for the input. My video is a bit different as I wanted to put something out there that while not providing solid information it does get the viewers attention and has a call to action.

The views are likely not from human visitors and if you are looking for traffic, real traffic a fiverr gig will not do it. Better bet is to build links to your video. However, artificial likes (if your video does not get banned) will help you get the enable revenue sharing option and get the video ranked higher in youtube results. Other than that, fake views are pretty useless.

FYI - Oh and some of the people who provide views can also provide "likes".

    Hey peacedr,
Thanks for the advice. I would much rather put the effort in to get real traffic and real backlinks than to shortcut and risk a banned account. I did do a quick test with a view for a view free software but since there is no record of where the views are coming from as far as youtube is concerned ( no mention in the traffic stats) I figured it was useless so I cut that off.
I really appreciate you fellow warriors willingness to jump in and take a minute to share your thoughts.
