Need some website help please

I am trying to replace my website with a newly designed site and I can't figure out how to delete the existing site so that I can publish the new site. Here are some specifics.

I use hostmonster for my hosting.

I build my sites and publish my sites using xsite pro 2.

Here is what I have tried so far.


I tried to re-publish through xsite pro over top of the old site....didn't work.

I then went into my hosting account at host monster and deleted the files in the file manager....didn't work.

I then went into ftp manager and deleted the file there on my hosting site....still didn't work.

I am not very tech savoy when it comes to this web design stuff so I would appreciate someone a lot wiser than me helping me out. This is driving me crazy!!

    Thats odd; have you tried renaming your index file but if you deleted the files you shouldn't have a working website either

      I contacted hostmonster live chat just now. His only response to my question was "I don't know what you mean"

      I explained it again and then waited and waited.....he just disappeared. So I guess I am on my own there.

      I refreshed my browser and the site just won't go away...aaarrrrgh!

      I will work on it some more to see what I can come up with.

    If you went into the ftp and were able to delete the files it sounds like you are stuck in cache. If you are still having trouble send me a private message and I'll try to help you.
