What's wrong with Google search lately?

13th Feb , nearly a month ago i search an "exact match" keyword in google search the results were around 58k , then checked again like 2 weeks ago, it fell to less than 49k, then today it's 220k.

U mean Bi G suddenly deindexed over ten thousands of sites and then later on so many people discover this keyword, it zoomed up 400 % - 500% increades of sites being indexed by google? But weirdly up to 8 pages not much new sites going on...n i mean, really few ... if i recall correctly like less than 5?

So why such a swing in the results? 58k --> 49K ---220k ?

    Did you definitely search the exact same phrase each time. I don't see why Google would show different results for each search, sound a little weird to me...

      Hmm... hard to say for definite without knowing the actual 'exact match' keyword. Could be down to the Google algorithm update, or it may just be down to market trends...

      Did you definitely search for the exact same keyword each time? Because there are some pretty big differences in those results.

      Yes. For instance keyword - stewart caramel cream.
      NOT phrase. Exact keywords.

      I put
      "stewart caramel cream"
      wth inverted commas, into google search bar, and on 3 different occasions, read initial post, i get 3 different " exact" results

    They are updating the alogarithm lately, people been talking about this.

    Yes, you will find this happens with every keyword from time to time as they are constantly scanning for more information on the topic.

    Also the Google update may have something to do with it especially if you see it fluctuate a lot.
