Hey guys,
Ive just launched my first membership site offering a product.
that took me 5 months to create.

anyway, ive got 1500$ to spend on something new. Ive just found this forum and like it very much.

What would you spend the 1500 on to earn money online?

Thanks for your input.

    Hey J,

I would spend that money on media buying and traffic.

If you have a membership site, you will need members right?

The more the merrier =] You could buy traffic from various sources, one of them you can buy from me. PM me for details and I'll let you in on the low down brodda!

$1,500 would purchase an outsourced, full-time article writer or backlink creator for 4-5 months.

My recommendation - use the money to outsource tasks that you already do, AND ALREADY KNOW WILL MAKE YOU MONEY.

Of course, if you don't already have money coming in, ignore my advice.

Don't spend it on advertising. Spend half to outsource something useful and put the other half in your saving bank account. Internet Marketers often forget they can "pay" themself and save that money for latter. Maybe you'll spend it to go in Europe or something you like

Hmm... really? How many hours per month of work are you talking about? And how skilled? Or really I guess what really matters is... can this person do 30 to 40 quality manual backlinks (commenting, social bookmarking, forum posting and so on) per day x 5 days per week OR write 5 to 6 quality 500- to 700-word articles per day?

I'm just seriously asking this question because this sounds very much like what I am looking for and spending $600 per month to hire two people - one doing full-time article writing and one doing full-time backlinking (maybe having them alternate between the two each week so they don't burn out) would certainly seem very worthwhile to me. Particularly, if they are able to do other tasks such as create websites and perform keyword research.

Would this be hiring workers from the Philippines? I've read bits and pieces about the $300 per month regarding Philippines-based outsourced work. That part does kind of put me off a bit as I would much prefer to employ people here in the states instead of being yet another person sending money out of the USA but it is certainly an option that may be worth considering.

I thought about PM-ing you about this but figured any information you provide in your answer would most likely be relevant and interesting to the OP as well.

        I am unclear about something.

Did you make the 1,500 from your new launch? Or was this income from something else?

Your answer to this would dictate my answer to you.

If you want to and can expand your membership site, then go for it. But otherwise I suggest investing in domain names. You could keep them and flip for the long term or do lots and lots of quick flips if you are willing to put in the effort.

I would invest at least half that on providing great content not only for your members but as reports, articles and perhaps even an ebook to entice them to join in the first place. Remember that with membership sites you can offer a very cheap or even free trial bundled with that content knowing that you will make money on the backend.

Rather then switch to something totally new you can try what I did. Continue to work with your original site then find free or low cost ways to promote the heck out of it, and at the same time diversify into other income streams.

Not that hard if you know where to look!

I've heard good and bad things from marketers about the Phillippines. What I recommend is checking out quality Warriors for Hire with a lot of proof first though.

It's much easier to tell quality when you see other reputeable warrior testimonials.

You can find good outsourcers on Elance and Guru.com but prepare to do a little research and testing a few different people out.

I'd recommend you tell them up front that you are testing their quality, customer service, turnaround, and anything else thats important to you up front - and that you will be looking for the best among other freelancers for a long term gig.

BTW congrats on having the cajones to shell out some money on your biz. I see so many posts here from cheapskates hesitant about coughing up a few bucks to get some quality work done.

That's not the mindset of a true business owner.

    Best regards,
    Dean

If you have great content in your membership site and already have some paying members, it'd be best to spend that $1500 on a variety of traffic generation techniques to acquire more members.

How did you drive traffic in the past to your membership site? If what did you seemed to work well, then use that $1500 to ramp it up some more.

If not, try a variety of traffic methods. I'd spend half on generating organic traffic, and the other half on paid traffic such as PPC and PPV, or even media buys (if you can find suitable blogs and websites to place your banner ads on).
