Question.

I'm seeing a ton of WSO's start lately with a TON of testimonials.

No problem there.

Except the testimonials aren't for the product that is actually being sold. They are either from past buyers of a DIFFERENT product or and this is my favorite - people who are promoting the product to their own list.

Cool or not cool?

I think it lends to the credibility and reputation of said WSO poster to have glowing reviews of their other products. For those seeking a review of the current WSO, I could definitely see the practice as a source of frustration.

"I don't care what your last WSO was about! I'm interested in this one!"

If the WSO is the launch of a new product, sometimes there just aren't any new testimonials to post yet until people start giving their feedback. In those cases, it makes sense to at least put some positive testimonials for previous products, to put new buyers at ease a bit.

Personally, I always scroll down and read the fresh comments from recent buyers anyways. I know that a product owner is only going to include glowing reviews for a new WSO, and I want to see what the real reactions are like- the good and the bad- before I make a decision.

      Tim,

Depends. Are the testimonials from previous products clearly labeled as such? If so, I don't see a problem.

If the testimonials from the seller's subscribers are legit, and for the same product at the same or higher price, I also don't see a problem.

        Paul -

I don't think so. In fact looking at the testimonials they are all for lower ticketed items, etc.

Since it's a brand new product I doubt there are any testimonials about the actual product as of yet.

If you're interested PM me and I'll get you link but if it's no big deal that's cool as well and will let me know how I need to market from this day forward.

          Tim,

PM me the links. I'll take a look. This is one of those things that's very dependent on presentation and context.
