Ripped off using Kindle?

I recently listened to a webinar by a well known affiliate marketer. He commented that when he publishes ebooks on Kindle (there’s a section titled ‘add contributor) he puts in a different pen name for each ebook he publishes. He uses names like Sally Jean, Tim Tune etc.

The reason he does this is because he was ripped off by someone who searched for all ebook titles under his real name and then this unscrupulous person rebranded all his ebooks. Has anyone else experienced this problem publishing ebooks on Kindle?

I've seen it happen myself and do the same. Totally ok by Amazon's TOS

If they are public domain ebooks or material to begin with, I'm not sure why a person couldn't do that, even though it might seem a wee bit unethical to do so in such a manner.

If it's something the person actually wrote and owns the copyright to, then I would say that it's illegal to do it.

I put different pen names on my Kindle material also.

I also think we need more of a story here. Was he selling public domain stuff, or did he sell resell rights to his stuff? Anything else should be taken down by Amazon if it actually infringes on rights.
