What Hardware Do You Use to Video Market?

When recording videos of myself, I've been doing the combo of my webcam for video and a nice audio-technica condenser microphone for audio. I then edit them together.

It's kind of an annoying process, and my webcam kind of sucks, so I was curious as to how you other video marketers out there recorded yourself?

I use Camtasia Studio. It has all the editing stuff built in. I can record an intro from my camera and then do a screen capture recording and put them together on the timeline. You can also do picture-in picture so you have your camera recording down in the corner of your screen capture. And you can even integrate the whole thing with Power Point and then publish the whole thing to a WMV or Flash video.

Long as you have the camera and the mic your good to go. BTW you definitely want a headset type of mic. The one on your monitor or built into your laptop is going to suck for sound quality.

Its been recommended by many to either use Camtasia Studio for screen recordings which are extremely helpful for 'hands-on' style how to videos.

But for recording you, I would recommend the Flip Mino HD, because it comes in so much clearer than my $350 video camera... Also, the audio quality is decent but if you are really picky on the audio quality, then get an HD camcorder that has a lavalier microphone option.

Lots of people are using the Zi8 pocket video camera, HD with an external mic socket to plug in your audio technica.

Personally I use the Canon XL1s.
