Why was my thread closed?

I am new to the Warrior forum as of yesterday.

The first post I made, urlnumber(dot)com/111209433686 (now has 10 follow-ups) has been "closed". Why is this? I wanted to reply to one of the posts.

TIA
Mark

Don't start a thread about this or they will ban you. PM an admin.

Probably because the entire thread was more promotional than anything else. It was turning into an ad for your service.

Don't hold your breath on the personal answer as to why it was closed for sure. There are only a handful of mods for a huge number of members. They not only don't have time to do this, they probably won't even see this post.

The normally do not ban you like the poster above me said. Generally they just delete the new thread. Of course, if you're particularly stubborn or it turns into an argument, then there is always the possibility of a ban, either temporary or permanent.

I would speculate that it was seen as self-promotional. You basically asked people to go to your website where you are selling stuff.

Be glad you weren't banned. I got an instant one-week ban when I did something similar two years ago. Getting your thread closed - not deleted - is giving you a lot more benefit of the doubt than I got.

Deliver some value here on the forum before you start asking for help and advice. All you've done here is talk about your own stuff. It's not about you here. It's about everyone else. Once you direct some attention and effort toward the rest of the community, people won't get their panties in a bunch as quickly if you ask for advice.
