I just wander how many people REALLY managed to make money
using 100% automated blogs. I mean blogs that you setup and let them pull content from rss feeds or whatever and monetize it by adsense or affiliate links/banners. Or semi-automated blogs that you feed with plr articles and similar. I know so far only 1 person that makes over $1500/month using this method so I wander if there is more people that can say they make good income this way? Almin |

I do
![]() I have two types of automated blogs: One gets drip fed tangible affiliate products from datafeeds, and the other type is drip fed articles. I use PLR articles for some, and my own custom articles for others. At some point I may hire freelancers to create hundreds of articles for those sites I want to grow larger. Sometimes I combine the two into one large site but usually I keep them separate for linking power to each other. I rarely use the mashup and scraping tools which pull in rss feeds, videos, and so on but I know many people like those too. |

I know you created the zipposter and the other plugin for datafeeds
( I don't quite understand the second one). You are certainly expert in wp automation and can answer some questions that I have about automated blogs. Can you tell me from your experience if posting PLR articles without rewriting them is worth the trouble? If I just create 4-5 categories and shedule 50-60 PLR articles per category the blog will have a lot of content for 1 year. But is it worthless if I don't rewrite those articles ? |

Hi Alminc,
I've actually written extensively about this in the last year, and if you read through the ZipPoster sales letter you'll find a lot of your questions answered there, along with some working examples. The short answer though, is YES. It's definitely worth the trouble. Unedited PLR can be spidered, indexed, ranked, and earn money. I also wrote a related detailed article here: Duplicate Content, Data Feeds, and ADPS… Affiliate Marketing Profit Tools that should help too ![]() Hope that helps a bit, Kathy |

Hi Alminc,
You can use PLR without rewriting them. The myth that using PLR without rewriting them and posting them on your blogs is not effective, has been smashed by Jeremy Kelsall. Here is the thread on what he experimented: 1 Hour Of Work Made Me $628.94 So Far.... |

I make a some money from them,
You have to think more about power by numbers or by quality, most automated sites have a lower quailty so you have to think of power by numbers. By that I mean if each site is averaging you $5/mo then set up 100 sites, and your making $500 bucks. You could obviously make much more then $5/mo but it all depends on what your doing. Check out my sig its a great video plugin to use for automating sites and/or enhancing your existing ones that have good content on them. |

Im new and investigating this Monetized Blog approach [sorry im an offline marketer] so please forgive the newb question[s] ...
Where is the bulk of the $$$ made with blogs? - Affiliate products sales - digital pdts /articles / hard goods [shoes purses-widgets/trinkets ? - AdSense? - List development and subsequent sales to it? or - some other method I totally dont understand. Over $1500 a month from Automatic blogging sounds very interesting. How long did it take to start generating that type of coin? Is that from multiple blogs or could one well placed Authority Blog get'r done? |

Thank you all for your answers. It's good to read encouraging
words. My intention is to build automated blogs based 50/50 on rss feeds and PLR articles (without rewriting ) and automatically inject affilliatelinks into that content. It's nothing new, people are already doing it. I hope this model can create some good income when I have built 50 blogs or so. I suppose it wil take 6 months untill these blogs are somewhat established in SE and have some rankings. I just wander how many people are already making good money with this (or similar) model. |

I'm using a combination of RSS feeds and PLR content at present. I'm putting the blog in a subdirectory and building a content site (mainly sales pages) in the root directory.
I then point the blog posts to a sales page - especially the index page which is basically a summary of a lot of sales pages - so that search engines can identify that as a page to be considered seriously. This works, although at this time most of the traffic is coming from the blog and submitted articles. I have some plans to use data feeds more and I'll do this after Christmas as I build more sites as I have dozens more that I've researched (in related niches) and will progressively develop. The preparation of sales pages gives me an immediate source of material for review type articles which can be detailed, yet quick to produce. A lot of the material I'm using for sales pages in the lead up to Xmas can be adapted for sites that have appeal throughout the year as just about anything sells at this time of year. Ivan |
