Maybe Now, Your Content Will Improve, And Thus Your Conversions.....

Hi Warriors,

When it comes to article marketing, it most definately still works as a great source of traffic with all the latest changes.

One thing I noticed, and others have too, is that EZA have really stepped up there approval game, and it is a tad harder to get articles approved.

Spelling or Grammar mistakes!
Over Promotion!
400 words minimum!
Over stuffing keywords!

The list seems to go on and on.......

But, this doesn't mean article marketing is DEAD!

It means article marketing CAN THRIVE!

Now, your game needs to be stepped up and the fact is, write better articles, get better conversions!

Cheap, worthless, lazy articles are not gonna cut it anymore, it is time to flood the internet with even better content!

This is an opportunity!

Couldn't agree more. Unfortunately it's a bit of a hard sell on this forum sometimes!

Sadly, it's a hard sell because there are so many people that don't understand the importance of good content.

I'm not where the mindset of "publish something that's so-so, run it through a spinner, and publish it again" came from. However, that's a mindset that far too many IMers have, and, IMO, it's that mindset that forced Google to move forward with the Panda update.

However, GoGetta is absolutely spot on. The Panda update is the perfect opportunity to get your content in gear and actually publish stuff that's based on solid information - that actually answers your audience's questions. Hopefully, more IMers will start to understand that - instead of running around saying that "article marketing is dead!"

        True, true ...

And also because huge numbers of people who think they're "using article marketing" are actually simply trying to use article directories to generate traffic, which is a very small part of "article marketing" and rather a forlorn one even before recent developments.

        Let's hope so.

You can be pretty certain, when you see someone saying "article marketing's dead", that they don't really quite understand what article marketing is, and they therefore have no right at all to be pronouncing on its state of morbidity or mortality. :p

Right on GoGetta. The new changes will only help my article marketing effectiveness. Now, I don't have to compete with crap. Even though my articles were always better, the crap still got seen because it got approved. That's not a problem anymore.

    Yes Travis,

    Exactly what I was thinking.

I got 2 articles sent back to me before to edit before approval by EZA which sparked this thread, and the articles I submitted weren't crap, but had a few grammar issues when I typed them fast and uploaded without checking them first.

This wouldn't have happened a few weeks ago, they would have been approved. So, now, many may go elsewhere, and the opportunity opens up even more! ; )

    Alexa and Nicole,

    Too true!

We will see how this pans out now, but like you say Nicole, it's a hard sell for sure. The thing is, well written, quality content is not that hard to write, and once you learn to write, and learn to write well, good quality, well informed content is written easily!

And moreover we can take that "quality content", read it loud and make a podcast, create slides and distribute to sites like slideshare, make a video using the slides and podcast which we have already created and upload to youtube and other video sharing sites.

More traffic, authority and quality backlinks from just one well researched content

I never think that article marketing is dead.It still has some sort of impression and this is why many successful internet marketers gives a good priority on it.However if we can avoid those mistakes like grammatical or spelling error our content will improve definitely.

On a second thought, these present changes at EZA are good because when you are coming with unique articles now, you will be sure of not being swallowed by many junks out there.

So quality is now getting the thumbs up rather than the quantity as was the case till few weeks ago.

I completely agree, and I actually like the changes as well. I take pride in the articles that I write, and I try to do a good job, while also doing some self-promotion, link building etc... I want people to enjoy reading the content that I write, find it useful and provide a service to the readers of what I write (albeit a free service, but I digress) Im glad that they are getting a little more stringent, hopefully that helps to keep me writing better content, and not getting complacent.

I've got the same thinking as ya.
I still bring in plenty of traffic from Ezine.

I completely agree with the OP here- and it bewilders me to see that there are people who are "outraged" at these changes.

Anyone who truly believes that they are going to convert better with a 250 word, misspelled, poorly punctuated jumble of sales hype on keyword steroids is seriously flawed in their thinking.

But I'm happy to let them be angry and "boycott" Ezine Articles altogether, as so many are doing. Honestly, I'd rather not try to convince those kinds of writers to stay- they contribute nothing to the directories, and only complain when they get nothing back in return for their "efforts."
