Since article directories have seen their traffic drop dramatically, you might also want to consider a normal link directory.

Just be aware of two things, with regard to that "list of article directories":-

      (i) Many of the sites included in it are not actually article directories;

(ii) Websites (like the 50 listed on that list) don't "have page rank". Pages have page rank. Yes, EZA's home page may be PR-6, but your articles there don't go on its home page: they go on a PR-0 page of their own, just like they do in every other article directory.

      Just "so you know".

Articlesbase is one of the best ones after ezines. Ezines are really clamping up their game and so I would go for the other directories like Articlesbase since their approval is also much quicker than Ezines.

    Cheers

      Let's hope they are, anyway.

For many of us, that's a reason to stay there.

      Why is faster approval better?

If you submit 2 acceptable articles per day to any article directory, they'll be publishing 60 of your articles every month, won't they? Who cares if they take 1 day or 5 days after submission to publish each one? What difference does it make to you?

If you'll excuse the observation, I think you're looking at it altogether the wrong way round. I know that you don't literally mean either of these things, but there really is a sense in which you're almost saying "I don't want to learn how to write better articles" and "I don't want my articles being in company with the best ones".

I do understand the frustration of getting an article rejected. But that's part of the educational process of "progress".

If a directory's "easy to get into", there are often reason for that, and those reasons can often correlate closely with the outcome of "getting in there" not being as good for your business. I have long experience, in this forum, of being pretty sure that the people who complain about EZA being "too selective" have a median income which is hugely below the median income of people who are using EZA successfully, and I strongly suspect that there are good and valid reasons for that.

I'm just saying. In the hope of offering you a slightly different perspective. With genuine apologies if I come across as "unsympathetic", which really isn't my intention at all.

As you can see from about 15 other recent threads here, on the same subject, many professional article marketers here are welcoming these changes from EZA, think they're long overdue, and that they don't go quite far enough.

It's true that some people who were trying to "do article marketing" by depending on article directories for traffic and backlinks may not be too pleased, but the reality is that their model of article marketing (which was only ever really "article directory marketing" and not actually "article marketing" at all) honestly wasn't a very viable one in the first place.

          Alexa Smith,

well I meant my articles being rejected from ezine in the fact that it is not enough original content to them.

Some of my articles appear around the 3rd positions of ezine articles when you search for the keyword.

F it. Im just a noob

          Alexa that pic is

I am curious about so many reactions to EZA making improvements with quality control.

If they are improving their site, would that not give your content greater credibility? Would you not be willing to spend a little more effort to make better content to make sure you could be included in that?

Why are people running away from better quality???

If you are constantly going for the easiest, the lowest, the most bare-boned, and the options with the least quality control, what does that say about your business? How shaky could your foundation be if high quality isn't part of it?

All they've done is slightly increase minimum length of accepted articles, put a stop on some clearly over-hyped and saturated topic areas, insist that your links and resource box remain relevant, and increased quality checks.

How is all this not a good thing for everyone?

How is this all not just good common sense?

Honestly, I was just thinking how you said lightly, succinctly and neatly what it took me far more words and a much heavier tone to say. I was the one who sounded harsh, here. You posted perfectly!

            Hey Elk,

yeah I understand how sometimes things can sound harsh when they are not meant to.

But Im saying that I write 600+ plus words for my some of my articles to go to ezine and I spent so much time writing them with great quality(in my perspective) and dont write my articles as if i rushed it.

I take my sweet time on my articles.

In fact, before ezine made the changes weeks ago.
I was editing some of my old articles that were already published, to improve them and resubmitted them.

Then the change came to ezine.

and ezine said that my articles did not have enough original content when they were already published on the site before the changes ezine made and become more strict. I just wanted to improve my old articles but couldnt because to them it was not original content.

    ArticlesBase.com.

It can rival EZA in terms of

    - syndication
    - traffic
    - rankability in 1st page Google (sometimes, even better)
