I was offered $3 CPM in advertising in gaming niche. Is that cheap or expensive?

Hi guys, I was offered $3 CPM in gaming niche. I've checked the website traffic stats, it's about like tens of thousands per month visitors, and I know it's targeted traffic.

I want to advertise a CPA program that pays $2 per email submit in first page.

Do you think that's achievable? What should I do, can I cover my expense in advertising?

All depends on your conversion rate, got to hit 1.5 conversions per CPM. If you've tried your offer on PPC, calculate your profit if you were to do that on CPM.

A good banner converts at 0.1% to 0.3% to clicks. Most banners don't hit those click rates though, so I'd use that as a basis to figure out if the rest of the math would work for your offer.

10000 views = 10 clicks, so at $3cpm that would be $30 for 10 clicks (being conservative), even if every visitor converts that's still only $20 net revenue. So doesn't look so hot to me.

But at the end of the day you never know, the targeted nature of the site might get you a far higher CTR, so test different banner variations and test small first to see what banner CTR range you're likely going to be working with.

It looks like to me you'd need a higher commission to make the deal work the way it is.
